Second Boot Camp  June 27—August 13Malawi

Improve the quality of life for AIDS orphans and other residents in remote African villages of Malawi, “The Warm Heart of Africa”. Here your team will share the Good News of Jesus by drilling a well to bring life-giving water to remote villages. After Boot Camp Training, you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Lilongwe, Malawi via Washington D.C. and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Your team will truck to an AIDS Orphan Rescue Unit to begin your ministry of well drilling, clearing a volleyball and soccer field, teaching Bible stories, singing and playing games with the orphans. Leading arts and crafts, helping improve literacy through phonics, and constructing a community toilet building to improve sanitation are other needed projects. Housing will be in tents; bathing and laundry will be done using buckets. At the end of the summer, you will travel to Liwonde National Park where you may see crocodiles, elephants, zebra, buffalo and many types of antelope.  You may have opportunities to purchase different kinds of native handiwork such as wood carvings, baskets, textile work and drums as souvenirs of your summer.
