Dear Family and Friends,
Betty and I greet you in the blessed name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. We pray this letter finds you all in the best of health and the love of Jesus fills your lives. This year has been a wild year with our health. First Betty’s sickness—she hasn’t fully regained her balance and is unable to drive. Also her back is troubling her again so the doctor is trying a new processor on both sides of her spine. The first step is to inject her in four places on each side of her spine and then a week later she gets eight more injections with a hot needle to deaden the nerves. Pray with us that it will correct her problem.
On July 23, while stopped for traffic, I was struck from behind by a young girl doing 40 miles an hour. Then a second car struck the car that struck me and both cars pushed me into the truck in front of me wrecking both the front and the back of our 2002 van. I have been suffering from a bad whiplash and have pain from my head to my lower back. I go to therapy three days a week, but we are sure God has everything covered. We still enjoy watching the sunrise every morning and the visits from our grandchildren.
In August, Betty and I had a pleasant surprise when we were on vacation. We visited a church where ten orphan girls from Moldova were sharing about the ministry that rescues orphan girls who have spent most of their lives there (about 10 to 14 years). Pastor Philip Cameron started this ministry to rescue these girls from the sex traffickers. When the girls turn 16 the government puts them out on the street and they have no where to go, basically being told they are worthless. Pastor Cameron’s ministry has built four safe homes for them giving them medical care, food, clothes and education. But most importantly they introduce them to Jesus. He has rescued 40 girls so far and placed them into loving homes. Betty and I know some of the girls. We met them at the homes in Moldova in 2010-2012 when we were leaving the Ukraine. Moldova is a small country between Ukraine and Romania. We’re so blessed God has brought these girls into our lives to help them have a better life in Jesus. If you would like to know more about the ministry log on to www.stellasvoice.org. You will be blessed. May I add these girls were treated very badly before with little food, not many clothes and were told nobody wanted or loved them. Words cannot express the joy God has blessed us with these beautiful young ladies.
James 1:27 “Religion that God our father accepts as pure and faultless is this, to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
Thanks for your prayers. Our next newsletter will be in January. Betty and I wish you all the best for Thanksgiving and a happy Christmas.
Love in Christ,
Bob & Betty Lane
