THE CHAMA’S POST
Greetings from Zambia in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
How are you doing? We hope you are full of God’s blessings. We are fine and the Lord has been so gracious to us as a family and to our ministry to the orphans. It has been a while since we wrote our last newsletter. I will try to fill you in on what has been going on in our ministry, as well as our family.
The girls are a joy to watch play and their love for God keeps on growing. Tehillah is now 10 years old and she is in 6th grade. She is doing well in school and is growing fast. She has done really well on her last two end-of-term exams. She had one A+, nine A’s and three B’s. Her teacher was happy with her work and believes that she will keep on improving. She loves learning new things all the time. Next year Tehillah will be sitting for the national examination. Please keep her in your prayers that she would continue to do well in school. Chimwemwe, our second born daughter, is seven years old and also doing well and growing fast. Chimwemwe is in 2nd grade. This year she has been doing well at school and her teacher said that she is ready for the 3rd grade challenge. Comfort is our third born daughter and she is 2 years old. She is a joy to watch and play with. She is learning to sing songs and new words every day. We thank God for the school fees that were donated toward our girls’ schooling. We were blessed to have paid for our girls for the whole year. Because of your gift we were able to concentrate on the ministry without worrying how we were going to raise and pay the girls’ school fees. This coming year we will be needing to pay $800 for the girls for a year. We continue to trust the Lord for His provisions and for His faithfulness in our lives. If you wish to contribute towards the girls’ school fees, please mark it, THE CHAMA’S GIRLS’ SCHOOL FEES.
This year has been very busy for us with ministry. We have not taken any breaks since the break we had when we visited the USA in 2011. And we are not seeing an opportunity for one in the near future. Through your prayers God has been strengthening us for each task He has given us. Helping others is our passion, and we are so thankful for Teen Missions for providing the platform for us to serve. We thank God for the way He has been using us for His glory. Just this year alone we have helped more than 2,000 people with different medical needs by providing medications for them. We have had over 500 people come to know the Lord as their personal Lord and Savior. We have helped hundreds of orphans be able to attend school. Plus we have helped many of them with food needs. We are sharing the Word of God through Sunday schools and many people are coming to the Lord weekly.
We are now planning the Zambian Boot Camps to train teenagers in the mission work. In the past year we trained hundreds of young people, and this year we are looking forward to training more, God willing. Please pray that many would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. We have been blessed to have been running these camps for the last 10 years and during this time we have seen thousands of people come to know the Lord. Some have gone on to became pastors and missionaries, and others have started Christian organizations. The spiritual growth in the lives of these teenagers when they leave camp has been a great encouragement to us to continue serving the Lord.
The rainy season will be here within the next four weeks. This is when my service to the Lord is greatly tested. The roads and bridges are washed away by the rains. Sometimes when I go around to our Rescue Units to take them monthly supplies I’m on my own, and countless times I have gotten stuck and have slept in the middle of nowhere alone. During these times chatting with the Lord has been the most encouraging thing. He is the ONLY one you have for as long as it takes. Thank God they don’t last more than 48 hours. Somehow God always comes through. Many times He has provided people to help from nowhere. God has been amazing to us as a family in many ways and this is just one of the ways.
Please continue keeping us in your prayers as we share the Gospel of Christ to the lost.
We are thankful to you, our supporters, for the support you have given us both in prayer and finances. Your gift has allowed us to continue serving the Lord and helping the orphans. We know that the Lord will greatly reward you for your partnership in our ministry.
In Christ’s Service,
Oscar, Maureen, Tehillah, Chimwemwe and Comfort Chama.
