Dear Family and Friends,
Can you believe that it’s 2015? Another year gone and another year to come! We are so excited to see what God is going to do this coming year! God has been so faithful this past year as we serve Him here at Teen Missions.
There are so many ways that we have grown this past year……some of us have not only grown spiritually, but also physically as well—Titus is growing and healthy. He is a typical little boy, climbing on top of everything and everyone. He is definitely a joy to have around!
God has blessed us so much in our growth this past year. One of the most prominent lessons that God has taught me this year is: happy wife, happy life! Not really, although partially true! God has really taught me a lot about being selfless in all I do: in marriage, ministry and day-to-day life. There have been many times that I find myself thinking that I am entitled to my own time, but God has shown me that ALL my time belongs to Him. So when someone needs counseling or Titus wants to play or Sarah needs my attention, I’m not only giving my time to them, but I’m really giving my time and myself to God.
God has also taught me what it means to be passionate about His work. God has really challenged me as to what my passions are, and if they are glorifying to God? It’s so easy to be self-righteous when it comes to this question. Sure we can say that we have a passion for the lost or that we have a passion for God’s Word. But is that really our passion? As I think about this more and more and search God’s Word, God has shown me that our passions can be evaluated by the amount of time or money we spend on something or someone. If my passion is for the lost, how much time do I spend on evangelizing? If it’s for God’s Word, how much time do I spend in His Word? I thank God for these lessons which draw us closer to Him! Praise God that He’s not done with us yet, because I still need lots of molding! “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
God has also been working in my heart this past year as well. The two main lessons I have learned are the importance of God’s Word in our lives and what serving God in the home looks like. God’s Word in our lives is so so important! “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17) The Bible says that we need to be sanctified in the truth, but how can we do that if we are not in the Word? It’s so important that we meet God everyday in His Word so that we may be able to grow to be more like Christ. Even though I still struggle with doing my devotions every day I see the importance of it and the necessity of it. I have also learned what it means to be a good wife and mother— a lesson I am still learning. One of the biggest things that I struggle with is being organized and making sure that the house stays tidy. God has really shown me that the work I do at home is not only for Josh or Titus, but really for His glory. There are still times that I struggle, but God has been so faithful in giving me the strength to get it all done! (Note from Josh: Sarah has been doing a tremendous job and I couldn’t be a prouder husband!)
These are only a few of the things that God has taught us this past year. God has been so faithful to us this past year, and going into this new year He has already shown us that He is taking care of us! Already God has blessed us with so much! January 7th my insurance ran out and with my medical conditions I really need insurance, but as some of you know insurance can come with a pretty big price. But praise God that He is bigger than anything that comes our way! God has astounded us with the generosity of our family and friends! I also needed a root canal and my dentist bent over backwards to bring the cost to a fraction of what it could have been! I still need the root canal finished, but he did the first and hardest part for dirt cheap! No words can describe how blessed we are to be able to have such amazing people in our lives! ALL glory, honor and praise goes to our Maker and Heavenly Father who gives us what we need at the right time!
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James 1:17)
We are excited to see the work that God is going to do in the ministry of Teen Missions as we continue to serve here. I am still working in the Video Department, and enjoying every minute of it! Not only am I head editor, but also the department supervisor. This has been a challenge, but God has used it to drawme closer to Him! It has been such a blessing to be able to serve the Lord in this area of Teen Missions. Sarah is a full time stay-at-home mom. She’s enjoying her work of training Titus in the way he should go. It’s a challenge since he is a VERY strong willed child!
This summer we are going to be leading the Teen Missions Indiana team. We will be going to Evansville, Indiana to do evangelism at the tri-state fairs! We are so excited to see how God is going to use the youth on our team this summer to reach those here in the states. There are so many people who don’t know God or have even heard who Jesus is and that’s here in the United States! Please be praying for us as we prepare for the summer!
It was so good to see some of you guys this past year! Thank you so much for your support and encouragement in our lives. God is using you in amazing ways, at home and also here in Florida! We could not do the work here without your faithful and loving hearts. We have been so blessed to have you in our lives! Thank you for partnering with us as we serve the Lord with Teen Missions International.
