Petersen, Steve & Gay Newsletter (Spring 2015)

PetersenSGDear Family and Friends,

At the Easter Sunrise Service at Cocoa Beach

It can be discouraging to see the moral decline in our country and the horrific devastation in global conflicts. Please know however that our God is indeed on the throne. Great doors for ministry are wide open. Hundreds of young people around the world at our Bible Schools are currently in training to enter the harvest fields and thousands  of teens are being sent out, with great effect on short term trips at our Boot Camps in more than 20 countries. More than 180 Motorcycle Sunday Schools are reaching thousands with the Gospel each week. (Our newest Sunday Schools just opened in Honduras where one circuit using a boat!) Thousands of orphans are being cared for and reached through the AIDS Orphans and Street Children Rescue Units in Africa. Be encouraged! THANK YOU for your prayers and support!

Summer Plans

Gay and I are still scheduled to serve as leaders on the Malawi #2 Well Drilling Team with the Yao tribe in the southern part of the country near where we served last summer. What a joy to see God use last summer’s team to bring clean water to a village; and through that effort watch God open a door to sharing the Gospel with those who have not yet heard about God’s son, Jesus Christ. A new weekly Sunday School has opened where we stayed last summer. Local villagers have been accepting Christ since our time there last summer. To God be the Glory! We currently have about 10 team members registered and two assistant leaders.

Happening this Winter / Spring

Winter Jam ended in March with over 600,000 in attendance and about 57 team members and leaders registered in addition to thousands of contacts and phone conversations with those we met along the way while on tour. I have been working on updates to the TMI website which has averaged about 1,000 visitors per day this past winter. I am also working on the purchase of another well drilling rig for Uganda  and helping with planning for the Video Department. We are excited about the recent release of a video that tells the story of Teen Missions from a one-car garage in 1970 to the diverse global minisIMG_2172tries at our bases around the world today. It’s about 17 minutes long and can be viewed on our website or youtube channel at . It’s called Through the Years and is in the promotional playlist.

Gay continues to balance her service as afternoon receptionist at Teen Missions with her duties homeschooling Timothy & Faith and in caring for her mother. Miss Joy has done better this winter/spring with only one minor hospital stay during that time. Gay will also be working on setup of the upcoming Peanut Boot Camp and their local outreaches in the community. (This will be Gay’s 14th year to coordinate the Peanut program.  Wow, time really flies!)  Our Big Tops went up last week and the 5K Mudrun benefiting AIDS Orphans is just around the corner on May 2nd. Go to for more information or to register if you live near us and would like to run or volunteer.

Timothy & Faith

Timothy has enjoyed serving with the local Upward Basketball referees on Saturday mornings on the scoreboard and as a statistician. He’s struggled in some subjects in school, but we press on. His support for Haiti (his first time as a team member without us) is almost complete (still lacking around $700). Faith is enjoying playing outside with friends and is doing well at school. Her support still has a ways to go (about $2,000) for joining us in Malawi, but the Lord has always provided. If you would like to partner with us in sending Timothy & Faith this summer, please see the coupon below.
