“Boot Camp has been a struggle for me occasionally, but I’m learning to trust God. And while I miss my home and my family, I am being pushed out of my comfort zone and I’m excited to see what God has in store for me and my team in the Philippines.” – Candace Penny
The Philippines Team Is Finishing Their Classes
Tonight all of the team members (and leaders) will be chanting at rally “Three more days!” to celebrate the fact that we will soon be on our way out of Florida. It is hard to believe that tomorrow is the last day of training before the team begins to pack out, and the team would agree that it seems like we have known each other much longer than a week plus a few days. The team finished up their puppet classes earlier this week and began Advanced Evangelism training to better equip them with sharing the Gospel. Yesterday they had their last construction class and started learning their fifth drama that we will be able to use in our presentations in the Philippines. We will all be grateful to begin the journey to the Philippines and put to use the team’s training in construction and evangelism.
Although the heat and humidity have continued, God has blessed us with no rain and an almost constant breeze to cool us down. Pack out days are infamously rainy, so we would appreciate your prayers for dry weather as we pack.
“We are starting to end Boot Camp and are getting ready for the field. Our team has gotten closer and closer through the classes. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in the Philippines.” – Courtney Case
“Boot Camp has been going fairly well this year. I love my team and we are getting along pretty well. Whenever I feel like giving up, I look to the Lord for help. I can’t wait to leave Boot Camp but I will miss my friends on other teams.
