Journey to the other side of the world on a missions trip to Malawi, Africa! Malawi is known as the “Warm Heart of Africa” and it truly lives up to its name. From the moment you arrive, you will feel the peace and friendliness of the people of Malawi.
Preteen Missions Trip (ages 10-13)
Travel: After Commissioning you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Washington D.C. before boarding a flight across the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and the Sahara Desert to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A connecting flight takes you across the Equator to Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. It is a two-hour drive from the airport to the Teen Missions in Malawi Bible, Missionary & Work (BMW) Training Center, located on the shore of Lake Malawi in Chipoka.
Ministry: Your projects will be to plant fruit trees and build a playground for children to enjoy while learning about Jesus. By planting fruit trees at our AIDS Orphans Rescue Unit, you will help provide fresh fruit full of good nutrients to the orphans there for years to come. Many children will be watching your every move as they await their turn to play on the new playground. Using a Wordless Bracelet or acting out a story from the Bible will be ways to share the Gospel message found in Jesus Christ. Housing will be in tents; bathing and laundry will be done using a bucket.
Adventure: Sightseeing will include a trip to Liwonde National Park where you will stay in a bush camp. A game drive will take you through the beautiful untouched wilderness; keep your eyes open for elephants and hippos! You will also have time to shop for wood carvings, jewelry and traditional drums.
