Panama FlagRio Sidra Carti, an island located one hour off the Panama mainland in the Gulf of San Blas, is your destination for the summer!

Teen Missions Trip (ages 13-19)

Travel: After completing training at the Lord’s Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport and board a flight that takes you across the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea to Panama City. From Panama City you will travel by four-wheel drive vehicle to the coast and board boats for a one-hour trip out to the island.

Ministry: You will build a pastor’s house for the Kuna people who live on the beaches of the Caribbean Sea and maintain plots of land in the jungle for their crops. The Kuna people are a very unique people group and you will be fascinated to live among them and experience their culture. Along with building a pastor’s house, you will share the love of Jesus with the Kuna people by using music and puppets. Many of these people are trapped in ancient traditions of spirit worship and superstitions.

Adventure: A day spent in Panama City on your return will allow you to see the Panama Canal, visit the museum that shares the history of the Canal and shop for souvenirs. You will also have opportunity to swim in the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean.

Dates: June 18 – August 6

Estimated Project Expense: $3190 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

  4. I know we get prayer cards to help us raise money but what are they and how do they help us raise money

    • Tori, You mail them out and people will hopefully respond. The letters tell what you will be doing and how much money you will need.

  5. Is there still spots for girls?

  6. Thanks Beth, another question I have is where will us kids sleep? Also, will we all fly together on a plane?

  7. Hi, I am praying strongly on going to a trip. I am a 14 year old girl. How can I be sure I will be safe for that long, and what would happen if I get homesick?

    • Alyssa, We do everything in our power to keep you safe. However, our lives are ultimately in His hands. Most of the kids get homesick at some point. If you do, talk with one of your leaders and they will help you through it. We keep you very busy, so there is not much time to get too homesick.

  8. Is this trip still open for boys?

  9. Do we have to pay our own Air fare?

    • Bianca, You will pay for your round-trip transportation to/from Florida, but your airfare to your project country is included in what you have to raise.
