Teen Missions Trip (ages 13-19)

Travel: After training at the Lord’s Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport and board a flight to Newark, New Jersey. From Newark a connecting flight across the Atlantic Ocean takes you to Belfast. You will then bus to the church and be met with open arms by those you will be serving.

Ministry: Your project will involve sharing in a youth ministry by running Summer Schemes (VBS-type programs) for local children in the neighborhoods surrounding your host church in Belfast. By using God’s Word, skits, memory verses and music, the children will learn that they can do all things through Christ and that He is their Protector and Defender.

Adventure: On a day trip you may visit Giant’s Causeway. Step from stone to stone or stroll along the beach. Test your courage as you walk across the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. A visit is also planned to the Harland & Wolff Shipyard where you will see what it was like to travel on majestic ships like the Titanic, which was built there. There will be an opportunity to shop for souvenirs which may include Irish linens, sweaters, bags, ornaments and items with Irish blessings written or carved on them.

Dates: June 18 – August 6

Estimated Project Expense: $3990 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

Is there a way for team parents to be in contact with one another? or to get info for other parents to create FB page/group for the Ireland team parents?

  2. I might need to switch teams from China to this due to money problems. Is this team still open to girls?

  3. Just a heads up for all of you coming to Northern Ireland. It will be a LOT cooler than Florida so it would probably be a good idea to bring a sweater and layers. Also the cooler weather will be hard to get used to. I wasn’t in Northern Ireland until after debrif last suer but it will be a shock to the system. Just a heads up to y’all

  4. is the Ireland trip full for girls?

  5. Is this trip full for girls? sorry hard to follow some of the rplies

    • Anne, Give us a call tomorrow. I think there is still room, but I won’t know for sure until I see the numbers at work.

  6. what part of ireland is the team staying in.

  7. I heard there is a farewell day in Florida after the bootcamp and before the trip for family members to visit. Could you tell me the date for that?

    • Emily, Commissioning is July 3. Parents can come after lunch and the general public can come in after 5. You can be picked up the evening before your “Go Home” day (either Aug. 6 or 13) between 8-9, but parents may come in after dinner for the closing ceremonies.

  8. Hi, I’d be coming from Germany so would it be possible to skip the boot camp? Thanks.

  9. How many slots are open for the Ireland 2016 trip? Is there a final due date to sign up?

    • Natalie, There are several boy spots and only 1-2 girl spots. The sooner you sign up, the better all the way around.

      • my cousin and i are very interested … how many girl spots are left?

      • Is it an option to be picked up in Ireland? Since living in NL. If so does the price change?

        • Cher, Everyone has to attend Boot Camp and Debrief. We have a few kids coming from Europe, but they need to fly round-trip to Florida.

          • I was hoping he could come to boot camp and we pick him up in Ireland since he would have to start school in NL that week. Too bad…. I guess we will have to look into options since school starts earlier in Europe than USA. I can understand not missing the boot camp but the debrief would run into school and travel back to Europe and time change three times in one week would be too much. He did enjoy teen missions last year. 🙁

          • Cher, We are sorry it could not work out. I know that in the US, they are not considered enrolled until they are physically present, so missing a few days does not affect them.

  10. Are there any spots left on this trip?

  11. Does this team have a Facebook page?

  12. I know I’ve asked this question on quite a few of the trips, but I’m trying to decide which trip to go on. Are there any more spots for girls? Specifically two.

  13. Hi i live in London ,England is it possible to go to a mission ?

  14. Is there any room left? And how much does it cost? Thank you!

  15. is there more room on the northern ireland

  16. When will we receive Hannah’s team member and requirement papers. (Shots, Visa, airport fees etc.)

    • Laurie, We will send out the Individual Team Fact Sheets later in the spring. If she is on N. Ireland, she does need a passport but does not need a visa. Check with your physician on what shots he/she recommends. Nothing is required for N. Ireland.

  17. Is there still room left on the trip?

  18. Is there still room for the N. Ireland trip for one more person?

  19. Do you still have room in your Ireland 2016 team for 2 more? Do we have to pay our own flights also from Toronto to Florida and back?

    • B. Walt, Yes, there is room and yes, you are responsible for your own round-trip transportation to/from FL. Yes, they could both go on the same team. You will fly in and out of Orlando International (MCO).

  20. I have 2 teenagers that may be interested in going. My son will be 17 and our daughter will be 19. Can they go together on same trip. Their dream destination is Ireland. We are Canadian. Where do you fly out of ? how would that work?

    Thanks

  21. Hi I am interested in the mission trip to Northern Ireland during summer of 2016. I would just like to know more details about the trip like the whole process of becoming involved in it, where we would stay, and exactly what we would be doing as missionary work.

    • Gianna, All of that information will come out later in the spring. However, you can access the 2015 reports from the N. Ireland team for more information.

  22. Is it possible to go and come back 3 days early?

  23. Hello!

I was wondering if I could be a assistant team leader if I’m a FTM and 18 on this team?

  24. I need to find out what vaccines are required for going to Ireland. Thank you!

  25. Can I participate if I’m Argentinian? I have a high english level…

    • Daira, Yes, you may participate. You would be responsible for any needed visas, the project costs and your round-trip transportation to/from the US.

  26. About how long will the people who go be in Northern Ireland? What exactly will they be doing down there?

    • Olivia, They will be there around a month (depending on travel dates). Look at the reports from this summer to give you an idea of what they will be doing.

  27. How many students go on the mission trips?

  28. Wil we be sleeping in tents or in the church?

  29. Please contact me so that I can get information for my daughter prior to me registering her.

    Thank you,

    Korrin Petersen
