We had so many goodie boxes, the team was so excited to open their packages and enjoy their treats from home. Afterwards our team was responsible to help take down the Big Top! We worked late into the night removing chairs, flooring, stages and more.

Sunday morning the team slept in till 11am, went to lunch, then after their verse review of the last 13 verses, they enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the pool. The highlight of the day was a trip to Wal-Mart and Dairy Queen.

Monday was our busiest day. The team spent two hours in town doing their laundry at a big laundromat. Then after lunch we packed and weighed out their duffels and carryons, took everything they wanted to keep for Debrief to our storage bin, and got everything organized for the trip.

Tuesday night we fly to Washington DC where we will have the chance to stay at a hotel for the night before continuing to Addis Ababa and finally into Entebbe. Please pray for safe travels and no missed connections.

Everyone is healthy for travel, so that is good. Please pray for continued good health. Andrew is healing very nicely after getting four stitches in his thumb. He has been extremely careful to keep it clean and dry. No more sword fighting with sticks for this team!

From the Team:

Sara S. – Boot Camp has been interesting. Lots of great speakers and friends. Fun, bugs, rain, heat, sweat and God’s mercy are just a few experiences I’ve had. The best part was getting to go to Wal-Mart for an hour because I wasn’t being eaten alive by bugs or dying of heat. This has been a blessing and a curse. I’ve loved and hated it, but now I’m ready to move on.

Sadie – Boot Camp is an interesting and tough place. Our team is crazy, but we have all grown to be good friends.

Hannah – These have been two of the hardest weeks of my life although a bunch of the stuff like the heat, the OC and getting up early was very hard, I have never seen God work through me so much through the hard times and through worship and messages. I’m so excited to leave and see what God has in store for Uganda. I also can’t wait to hold all the little kids in my arms.

Savannah – Boot Camp was hard. I had to depend on God a lot. I’ve learned to pray a lot! It also prepared me for the field. I loved the OC, it pushed me farther than I thought I could go. I was hot, sticky and itchy. The last few days were lots of fun and very relaxing.

Caden – The first two weeks were so fun. I loved the OC and drama. Packet was crazy. I can’t wait to get to Uganda. Music class and SB’s are horrible. We went to Wal-Mart and went swimming on pack out day.

Joshua – Boot Camp is a hard place, but it can be funer with friends.

Katie C. – Boot Camp was rough, but we’ve had a nice break the past few days. We have been in dorms since Saturday night and there has been a lot more free time. Pack out was stressful, but now we’re all ready to go out and serve the Lord.

Ashton – Boot Camp is one of the hardest things I have ever done. It tested me physically, spiritually and mentally. I never thought I would survive but I have made life long memories and friends and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Breanna – Boot Camp was definitely a challenge for me. Often times I felt like giving up. But God reminded me why I chose to go on this journey. He taught me to direct my thoughts away from myself and remember that He who called me is faithful. I was called by God to commit my summer to serving Him no matter how difficult it gets.

Levi – Boot Camp was interesting. I’ve learned a lot of things though, so I guess that’s good. Our last two days have been much more relaxed. On Sunday we slept in dorms for the first time till 11:30am. Swinging on a huge rope swing and and having constant fear of falling into a nasty lake was also exhilarating.
