Jacqueline-This trip has been such a great experience so far!!!  I love my team and we already have so many great memories.  One highlight for me was getting to walk around Jerusalem and going through Hezekiah’s Tunnel.

Joshua-The Holy Land is such an amazing and breathtaking place.  It is incredible to think that we are in the center of where some Biblical events took place.  With amazing leaders and this wonderful team, this trip can only get better.  I’m looking forward to the rest of my time here!

Gabriel-We have finally recovered from our jet lag.  We had a chance to visit Jerusalem.  My favorite part was walking through Hezekiah’s Tunnel, a place where David and his mighty men had walked before.  It is nice to get into God’s Word every day and see how He works through His Word.

Kaitlyn-We have been here for almost a week and a half and I have had many ups and downs.  But my downs always turn up thanks to my team.  My team is so supportive and funny!!  I could never have wished for a better team!!  Our project has had some set backs but we work extra hard on everything we do.  I can’t wait to see the finished project!!

Miranda-Wow!  What can I say?  We are blessed to be here in the Holy Land.  We have had very good food adventures with trying falafel and shawarma.  We have gone to the City of David and explored through Hezekiah’s Tunnel.  I love it here and I hope my family and everyone else can visit some day…it is amazing!!

Kailub-Being in the Holy Land is such a great opportunity and this team makes it even better.  I have spent so much time in God’s Word and everyday I see the Bible come to life.  My soul is on fire for God.  Have learned that God’s promises will come to pass and that His Word will never fail.  I am thrilled to be here and anxious for everyday.

Emily-I have been having an awesome time here in the Holy Land!  We’ve cleared land, dug ditches for the greenhouse foundation, and landscaped around Hope School’s property.  Life has been really busy, but it is great!!  I love being here and looking out my bedroom window at the valley below.  It is gorgeous!!  I can’ explain the wonder I feel at being able to explore this land where Jesus lived!!  I am so thankful I got this amazing opportunity.

Anastasia-First off, let me just say you have never lived until you’ve had fresh falafel.  The taste is incredible and worth the long wait in line to get.  With that said, I would just like to say that my time so far in the Holy Land has been awesome.  To be in the places where Jesus walked is just….beyond words.  It is like having the Bible come to life in a way.  I think my most memorable moment here so far was going to Hezekiah’s Tunnel in the City of David.  Even though it was a little scary at first and the water was freezing, it was really cool.  And being short had its advantages when it came to the really low parts.  This team is amazing and I can see how God is working in each of us day by day.  On a little side note…I would like to say Happy Early Birthday to my beautiful and strong mother.  I love you and miss you very much.

Edward-I have been having a great time here in the Holy Land.  Work in the worksite has been hard but not as hard as last summer.  I threw a dead, smelly cat over a fence and moved a dead chicken at the worksite.  This past Sunday we went to Hezekiah’s Tunnel and the water was freezing cold.  I have also been playing songs at night for the guys in my room.  The songs are about people on the team.  I have also been thinking about God and everything He has created and the love He has for me.  It has been a great trip.

Moriah-Being in the Holy Land has been great so far!!  The work we are doing is hard but really fun because we get to work together.  I love my team and am doing great in every possible way.  The trip to Jerusalem was amazing and super fun.  I am excited to see what the rest of the trip will bring!

Casey-We are enjoying our time here, working and sightseeing is fun.  It is amazing to see things built thousands of years ago.  The people are friendly, but it is obvious that there is a lot of tension, anger, and bitterness.  I am looking forward to the rest of our time here.  Please remember to pray for our project and the people here.

Micah-I am still amazed that I am here in the Holy Land, visiting the places I read about in the Bible.  I love the fact that I have made friends that I can actually relate to and that can challenge me to think about the future.  The leaders are really great.

Klystia-My favorite experience from the trip so far has been going through Hezekiah’s Tunnel.  It was so cool to walk through a tunnel that has been there for thousands of years with the water flowing there at least as long.  It was also really cool eating falafel that we bought from street vendors.  Shopping in open air markets is a fascinating experience that I will never forget.  I have loved all of the opportunities that have been presented here, and I know this will be one of the most meaningful summers of my life.

Jakob-I arrived in the Holy Land with much enthusiasm.  I was glad to see the sleep was better than at BC.  Exchanging money and getting Arabic coffee were the highlights of my first day.  Arabic coffee is amazing!!  But since then, many things have happened including food: falafel and shawarma are the favored meals.  Shawarma is better because it has meat in it!  Finally, it was an overwhelming experience to see the Bethlehem Square, Hezekiah’s Tunnel, and the Western Wall and realize I am in the same place I have always read about.

Ethan-I really liked Hezekiah’s Tunnel.  It was so long!  It was so awesome walking where King David walked.  Sometimes the ceiling would be 3 feet high and sometimes it would be 20 feet high.  The water was 6-24″ deep too!

Thanks to the leaders for sharing this – it is great to hear that our kids (I am boldly saying what I am sure every other parent is thinking) are doing so well. It sounds Hezekiah’s Tunnel was a big hit – and walking where Jesus, and Paul, and James, walked sounds very exciting. You are in our prayers every day. Keep up the good work. Thanks again to the leaders.
