“A thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that they
might have life and have it in abundance.” John 10:10
Dear Friends and Family,
It was a rainy afternoon and we were bringing our Cambodian Boot Camp team back from doing house-to-house evangelism among the businesses and rice fields when we saw it. The Lord gave us a wonderful opportunity to put our faith into action. A man and wife with their motorbike carriage were stuck in a large puddle of water on the side of the road. Our whole team jumped out of our tractor trailer and pushed them out of the water. After some failed attempts in helping them to get the motor started, we push started them multiple times down the road. They were very grateful for the help we gave them and shared some of their food with us. We rejoice that the Lord gave us a great opportunity to not only preach the Gospel, but also to live it!
We had quite a very busy summer hosting three missions teams at our TMI base here in Kampong Chhnang. In June we had a team of seven adult ladies from the US with the World Race Team. They helped us do outreach and ministry here, and they helped us a lot by laying half of the bricks for the walls of our old pavilion.
In July we were very blessed to have the Teen Missions Motorcycle Sunday School Mission (MSSM) motorbike team of 11 teens from the US. They rode motorbikes hundreds of kilometers from village to village sharing their love for our Saviour to all who would listen. They did a wonderful job in their dramas, puppets and presentations. We rejoice that many souls were saved. They also did a great job continuing to lay the bricks for our old pavilion and almost completed it. One of the fruits of their ministry is that two of the Cambodians they ministered to will very likely become students in our free three-year BIBLE, MISSIONARY & WORK (BMW) Training Center. They are very excited for the opportunity to study the Bible and English and learn work skills at the school.
We had the Cambodian national Boot Camp in August with two teams—one was a work team and the other was an evangelism team. All the TMI staff, students and interns came from the Siem Reap base to attend the BMW graduation and to help with Boot Camp in Kampong Chhnang where we live, while Redika and I went there to work in the office and do security. Redika scanned many BMW textbooks into the computer and I typed a book, “The Way of the Cross”, that will be translated into Khmer.
We joined the Boot Camp team during their project time. We rejoice that many of the Boot Camp kids made commitments to Christ and they are interested in knowing Him more closely. I asked one of them, Kimlong, what his response would be if he were forced to deny Jesus and live, or hold to his faith in Christ and be killed for it. He said that he would rather die for Jesus than live and deny Him! His boldness really touched our hearts.
The teens really helped us improve our missions base here by finishing a new bathroom and shower building, clearing the land of grass bushes and brush surrounding it and other areas of the base. They also put in 50 cement fence posts. During their evangelism time we went door to door among the rice fields witnessing and giving out “Life of Christ” picture and gospel booklets. Many people gladly received them and we were able to share Christ with them. We rejoice that our team had 84 decisions for Christ and many hearts were touched by the kids caring enough about them to take the time to share Christ’s love. They were a great joy to have here and greatly grew in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus. The summer program has just ended and they have gone home, but the great work that God has done in their hearts through the Boot Camp program and their devotional times in His life changing Word will continue on for years to come.
We have thoroughly enjoyed continuing to teach English and the Bible to the kids who come to our daily English and Bible classes at our base and to those in the two villages where we teach as well. Please pray for this weekly ministry, that many more kids will come. We have found that there is no better way to experience God’s abundant Spirit-filled life than to prayerfully, obediently be living in the center of His (Holy) and perfect will.
I have been blessed to have had pretty good health; however Redika suffered with Mononucleosis for quite a while. We rejoice that she is mostly healthy now.
Our return to the US
We have had more delays in Redika’s visa process because of some documents that we had to wait a while to obtain. We rejoice that we finally have most of them and the process is moving forward again. We expect it to be finished in enough time for us to be returning to the US in early 2016.
Prayer and Finances
We are very thankful to God for blessing us with so many people who pray for us and for all who have partnered with us financially. Your sacrifice is accomplishing great things for God in Cambodia and is very much appreciated. Our monthly support is still low (currently $550/month), but we know that God is faithful and will continue to supply all of our needs as we continue to trust in and serve Him. We are praying for 50 friends who are willing to join us in His work with $20 a month. This will help us become fully supported. We are grateful for the $1,300 that we have towards the $4,500 needed for immigration fees and our move back to the US. We are trusting God to bring the rest of the $3,200. If the LORD puts it on your heart to partner with us monthly or as a one-time gift towards any of our expenses, it would be greatly appreciated and beneficial in helping us to fulfil the Great Commission of reaching the world for Jesus and being more effective ministers of the Gospel. “Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not out of regret or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
Thank you for helping us be the hands and feet of Jesus to a lost and dying world that needs to know and see the love and forgiveness of Jesus. May the Lord strengthen you for your mission today and every day!
In His grace and only for His glory,
Samuel and Redika McCracken
