Bobb, Shannon & Vikki Newsletter (Spring 2016)

Bobb Staff NewsletterTo quote my 5 year old great-nephew, Charlie: “Everybody hold on to your elephants,” It’s about to get crazy here!

Shannon has been very busy coordinating the AIDS Orphans Mud Run that will be held at Teen Missions on May 7. Getting the course ready, processing registrations, soliciting sponsors and doing promotions in the area are just a few of the things that have been going on in preparation for the event. Last year, we had approximately 350 runners. We have been told by many experts to expect at least double that this year!! Last year, we were able to raise over $10,000 for AIDS Orphans relief work in Africa. Just recently we were able to provide famine relief to a starving village in Malawi with some of those funds. We hope to raise even more this year to bring hope and necessities to people who are in desperate need. Please pray for Shannon as he oversees all the preparations for the Mud Run.

Teen Missions Airways

On Friday, April 8, we commissioned a special airplane that will be used for the Mustard Seed Program, a four-day camp for 4-6 year-olds in June. The plane was designed and built by Howard Vanderpool and his son-in-law, Jim Paisley. Our plan is for the children to embark on a new international adventure each day, complete with passports! It is amazing how much detail went into this project. The kids are going to feel as if they are traveling to far-off lands and experiencing a new culture and country each day.

Boot Camp is fast approaching!

On May 14, we will start praying around the clock 24 hours a day for 30 days in preparation for the start of Boot Camp. It means that life is about to get real crazy around here, especially for the Bobbs. Preparing all of us to go in three different directions takes a lot of planning, packing and PRAYER! Canaan is set to leave on May 15 for RUSSIA for three months to help with two Boot Camps there. This has been a dream of his for quite a while and such an answer to prayer! He is four months seizure free and doing so amazingly well! We can’t praise God enough…tears of joy are flowing down my cheeks as I write this! In August, he will fly to Cambodia and be helping us there until December.

PrintMadison will be attending a leadership camp at Asbury University the first two weeks of June. She is very excited to have been accepted to this program. She returns home the evening before she starts Boot Camp. She will be going on a team to India this summer to work at an orphanage and at the Teen Missions base in southern India. In August, she will fly alone to Cambodia to meet us and stay until December.

PrintShannon and I, along with Zoe, will be leading a motorcycle team to Cambodia this summer. We will be using Sunday School lessons to teach phonics and literacy and also share the Gospel in remote villages in southern Cambodia. In August, our team will return to the U.S. and our family will remain in Cambodia helping with the ministry there until mid-December. This is sure to be an adventure for all of us. Madison and Zoe will be doing their schooling through Florida Virtual school via the Internet. This will help keep them on track so that they can return to school in Florida second semester next year. Madison is entering eleventh grade and Zoe, seventh grade. Please pray for adjustment for our family, peace, safety and good health during this time. We are learning each day to trust God more in times of uncertainty and in the unknown.

PrintMadison and Zoe have raised about half of their travel costs. They still need about $3,500. We are trusting God to provide the money for these expenses. Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised;”

So you can see that there are crazy days ahead, but God is in them all. We learn every day to trust Him more.
