Lette, Shanty Newsletter (Spring 2016)

LetteThough the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my savior.

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,

Greetings all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to serve our Lord Jesus Christ by doing ministries here in South Africa. He holds my hands and walks with me and He shows me His love because of His faithfulness. God is faithful!

I am doing ministry to all ages, either to the children, teenagers or adults. This time I would like to share the story about the drunkard which I was ministering to. The first time I did ministry with them, I was so afraid because they were drunk and I didn’t know how to talk to those drunkards. I have no idea what I am going to do with those people. I was praying and asking God to give me courage and wisdom how to talk to them. It took time but I can see the hands of God work through me. Last month I was doing the ministry to those who were sitting together and drunk. I went to them with one of the students and I started to talk to them by greeting them. I shared the Word of God and I spoke about “Heart Desires.” First when me and one of the students went to them they were feeling uncomfortable because they were drunk. I said to them, “It’s fine as long as you are willing to listen to what I’m saying about the Word of God—then, no problem.” While I was talking about “Heart Desires”, one of the guys who was listening and paying attention was asking me, “Do you think God cares for people like us? We don’t go to church, we don’t pray. Do you think God cares about our heart desires?” I said to him that God is a faithful God and He cares about my heart’s desires and He cares about your heart’s desires, guys! Because He is a loving God.  They were touched by the Word of God. After we finished one of the guys came to us and told us that he has been sick for so long that he was having pain in his chest and he was asking us to pray for him. We prayed for healing upon him and now he is healed. I met him a couple weeks ago and asked him how is he doing and he told me that now he feels no more pain. I thank God for what He has done to the life of that guy and thank God for His faithfulness.

I got to hold the baby Blessing

I got to hold the baby Blessing

Every Saturday I do the ministry to the drunkards, street children, homeless, jobless and also to the prostitutes. Sometimes it is tough, but by the grace of God I can see how it works. I was doing the ministry to the children and I am so blessed by those little children. During my ministry I always go and visit the mama of one of the kids and at that time that lady was still pregnant. She used to like to come and join our ministry and she also listened to the Bible story. Usually after doing the ministry I laid my hand on her tummy and prayed for the baby. Last month the lady gave birth so I went and visited her and the baby. It’s a baby girl and the name of the baby is Blessing. Then as I prayed for the baby I was saying to the mama, “Because the baby’s name is Blessing that means she will be a blessing for the nations and God will use her for His glory and she will go around the world and preach the Gospel.” After saying that the lady said to me, “Will you go with her?” Surprised, I told her, “Sure, God willing and if you allow me to go with her, then I will.” The little baby has a sister named Dimagazo and she is one of my Sunday School kids and she likes to sing and play games. I thank God for what He is doing for me and my ministry. God is faithful.
