Peru

Spend your summer serving God in the dynamic country of Peru, “The Land of the Incas”.

Buenas Tardes! from Peru

Dates: June 17 – August 4, 2017

Teen Missions Trip (ages 13-19)

Travel: After finishing your training at the Lord’s Boot Camp, you bus to the Miami International Airport for a flight across the Straits of Florida, Cuba, the Caribbean Sea and the Equator before arriving in Lima, the capital of Peru. A connecting flight will take you over the Andes Mountains to your destination of Pucallpa, a small, beautiful jungle city located on the Ucayali River in the Amazon River Basin.

Ministry:  Your project will be to help the El Shaddai Bible Missionary Church by continuing construction on a dining room so that those attending will have a nice place to eat.  This will be a blessing as many children visit the church to learn about the Bible and the love of Christ. You may have the opportunity to share the Gospel at the local public school or a nearby orphanage using puppets, drama, music and personal testimonies.

Adventure:  A boat ride on the Ucayali River will give you an opportunity to see how the people live along the river. You may also walk to the river market where you can barter for amazing handcrafted spears, bags, paintings and more!

Project Expense: $3590 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

  1. Is there a more specific packing list for the Peru team? Do the construction work boots need to have a composite or steel toe? Or can they have a soft/normal toe?

    • Nicole, Steel toes are not required. The packing list is on our website under “resources”. It says 2016, but it is the same this year. The Individual Team Fact Sheet gives you the weather so that you can pack accordingly.

    • Nicole, Peru will go by our general packing list. No, they do not have to have a steel toe.

  2. I’m 16 and have been talking to my parents about doing this. Is there still spots available to sign up for the Peru trip or is it too late? If there is still spots, where does the 2 weeks of training take place. Thank you.

    • Kara, It is not too late. However, the tickets have been purchased. You will need to call the office on Monday (321-453-3050) to see if we can get an extra seat. The training and Debrief is at Merritt Island, FL.

  10. hi, i am interested in a trip but am wondering if there is a possibility to leave the debriefing early because i have to be somewhere on the fourth. i would really like to go but is this a possibility?

  11. Would the Peru team be considered solely a work team and evangelism is done in nearby locations when work is not being done, or is this a set number of weeks to work on the project and then a transition to solely EV?

    • Grace, Most work teams will be doing evangelism throughout their stay. Sometimes, they take a whole day and sometimes in the afternoons or evenings. It all depends on what the missionary needs/arranges.

  12. The Nicaragua link does not work, are you guys aware of that?

  13. Hello,
My daughter may want to sign up and go on another mission trip in 2017. Do you know when the registration list will be updated? When the registration list is pressed, this trip does not show up. It also seems that trips that are not on the list, such as India Orphanage, do show up.
    Thank you.

    • Alan, What is on the 2017 list is what we have right now. There will be some changes when everyone gets back from their summer teams. We will not process the registrations until mid-September.
