From a scenic hilltop nearly 7,000 feet above sea level you will train and disciple Native American teens to impact the vast Navajo Nation through work projects and evangelism.
Dates: June 13 – August 11, 2017
Teen (Ages 13-19)
Travel: Upon arrival at Teen Missions (TMI) in Merritt Island, Florida, this special FTM (former team member) team will take a day to pack and will then travel by TMI bus nearly 2,000 miles across Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and New Mexico to Tse Bonito, home of Western Indian Ministries (WIM).
Ministry: The team will prepare the Obstacle Course and class locations for Boot Camp and will assist with construction, drama, music and puppet classes. Additional projects will include development of the hilltop camp for WIM and outreaches at local JMI (Just Move It) 5K races taking place across the reservation.
Adventure: An opportunity to experience the beauty of the Colorado Plateau will include a visit to Grand Canyon National Park. You will also visit the Navajo Nation Museum and the famous WWII Code Talkers Memorial at Window Rock, Arizona. A variety of souvenirs are available at local shops at the Four Corners Monument — the only location in the USA where you can stand in four states at once! Afterwards, you will travel back to Florida for debrief.
