Panama

Panama FlagRio Sidra Island, located one hour off mainland Panama, in the Gulf of San Blas, is your destination for the summer! Here you will build a youth center for the Kuna people who live on islands in the Caribbean Sea and maintain plots of land in the jungle on the mainland for their crops.

Dates: June 17 – August 4, 2017

Teen Missions Trip (ages 13-19)

Travel:  After completing your training at the Lord’s Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport and board a flight that takes you across the Gulf of Mexico, Cuba, and the Caribbean Sea to Panama City. From Panama City you will travel by four-wheel drive vehicle to the coast and board boats for a one-hour trip out to the island.

Ministry:  The Kuna people are a very unique people group and you will be fascinated to live among them and experience their culture. Along with building a youth center, you will share the love of Jesus with the Kuna people using music, puppets and drama. Many of these people are trapped in ancient traditions of spirit worship and superstitions.

Adventure:  A day spent in Panama City on your return will allow you to see the Panama Canal, visit the museum that shares the history of the canal and shop for souvenirs. You will also have an opportunity to swim in the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Project Expense: $3390 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

  1. regarding swimsuits how low can the back be open?

    • Erin, If there is any question, then please don’t bring it. It would be the normal one-piece, modest swimsuit.

  2. How do we know what trips are still available? I’m inquiring for my 15 yr old son.

  3. What do we do with extra contibutions? Do we send them back to the people or does TMI use them for another team or what?

  4. Tony Escarzaga

We are looking to see if our teen needs to bring a tool or home depot gift card for this trip. On the initial paperwork it mentioned a tool but in the Panama-specific paperwork nothing is mentioned.

    Thanks
