The Madagascar Team is doing super great!!
The rain has stopped for a couple of days and it has been very nice. They’re telling us that it’s about to get hot again though, so pray that we can withstand the heat and humidity and stay hydrated. Yesterday, we won the C lean Award, the Brainstorming Award, and the Godliness Award which means we get to swim in the pool during our free time for the 2nd day in a row.
Our speakers have been awesome, bringing messages that have truly touched some of the hearts of team members. We have been doing great on the Obstacle Course as well and are working great as a team already. We have begun our motorcycle training and everybody is learning very quickly. It’s a lot of fun and we’re all very anxious to get to Madagascar to use the skills we’re learning. Today, we got measured for our leather jackets. We are the coolest team EVER!!!
Emeline Summer: Boot Camp has been an unexpected journey, but one that I will not soon forget. The heat and humidity, our ungodly wake-up hours, and lack of contact with the “outside world,” makes it difficult to complete our daily tasks. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are the highlights of our days, along with what little sleep we can manage to get. The fear of Miss Piggy and an S.B. (special blessing) keep us on our toes. If I could have one prayer request it would be to grow a few inches, so I would be able to touch the ground from my dirt bike and keep myself from falling into my leader. However, with all the challenges that Boot Camp brings, it has already brought many friends, and I know that I will be strengthened emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically. I am thankful for all that I have learned and will continue to learn throughout the rest of my time here. I am glad God brought me to this place that I know will bring many great memories and people into my life.
Mackell Phillips: Boot Camp has been going well! It’s tough with all the mosquitoes and humidity, but I’m having a great time! God is definitely working here. We’ve been training on the dirt bikes twice now and it’s been awesome! The Madagascar team gets along great! We won the clean award, which means we got to swim in the pool during free time! That was an awesome break from the work. It hasn’t all been easy, but it’s an amazing experience with awesome people and it will all be worth it when we get to bring God’s love and all we’ve learned here at Boot Cmap to the people of Madagascar. Love and miss you, fam!
