The Arizona team visited two ‘Just Move It’ or JMI 5k races this week putting much of our training to good use! The first one was held on Wednesday in Vanderwagen, NM where they set up a small table and gave away free ice water. The team also drew the crowds by sharing the Gospel through puppets, dramas, and give aways. We made animal balloons for the kids and shared the gospel using the wordless book and bracelet. The teens had a short survey where they asked the onlookers 10 simple questions, the last of which are “If you died tonight would you go to Heaven?” They had over 20 conversations the first night. On Thursday evening we rejoiced to see a young Navajo runner receive Christ as her Savior! There were many powerful conversations and many ’seeds’ planted in people’s hearts. Praise the Lord! On Friday, we took down our white ‘Big Top’ tent and most of the Obstacle Course. We separated our tools and began loading the bus. In the afternoon, the team moved rock and dirt up the mountain to repair the road leading to the radio transmitter building. Tim & Jeremiah’s moms cooked Navajo burgers for us as the day ended… yep, they were awesome! On Saturday, the team plans to travel to Indian Wells to help a small church and some needy families in the community. The weather has been sunny and dry this week. Cool in the mornings and evenings… hot in the afternoons. We’ve been healthy as well… Thanks for all your prayers!
From the team members:
Owen McAndrew — Hello Everyone! It’s really beautiful in the reservation! God has been blessing our team greatly, bringing us all closer together everyday. We finished Boot Camp last week and have already been given the opportunity to put us use what we learned during evangelism training twice! God even used me to lead someone to Him! He has used this team to plant many seeds, and water planted seeds, now God will bring the increase! We have also been blessed with speed and safety on our work projects. We have gotten to repair a road, move cinder blocks up a mountain, refurbish buildings, fix up a volleyball court, and we are looking forward to all the other work projects we will be doing this summer! It truly has been a blessing to serve Jesus! “Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100:2,5 God is good!
Nathaniel Nez — This past week at Boot Camp we have been preparing to preach the Word of God and helping people to know more about God and Jesus. We’re telling people the word and we pray for them. We go all over the Navajo Nation, going to churches and repairing homes. We have been learning Romans 1:16 … For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Jonathan Yonnie — These past two weeks God has changed my life with how he has been with me through evangelizing and how He was with me on some of the lessons. The people and speakers have changed how I think about God. The past weeks have been a good experience for me. I have grown spiritually and mentally these past weeks.
