It’s hard to believe that our time here at the Teen Missions base here at Kampong Chhnang is almost over. We travel back to Siem Reap on Saturday. We have really enjoyed our time here. Riding the motorcycles has been awesome and the base is peaceful and serene. The last two days we have had MSSM ministry all day. We leave at 8 am and return about 4 pm. We do two MSSM locations each day. Yesterday was a rather long day on the bikes but what a blessing it was to share the Gospel with so many children and adults. The first presentation had about 75 children and the second had about 60. We have had two decisions for Christ in the past week among the children we share with. Yesterday at one of the churches we presented we had about 60 kids but the most amazing part was that people traveling by all stopped to listen as well. We were in a very rural area and it was awesome to see so many curious people stop by and hear the Gospel. We are especially thankful for our interpreter, Somali, who goes with us each time. She is an intern at the Bible School and has been a real blessing to all of us.
On Saturday, 10 Bible School students along with their coordinator; Nellie, arrived at the base to join us. They are working to plant rice and prepare for boot camp. They have the fields of rice planted and are now preparing gardens to grow vegetables for boot camp. We have enjoyed getting to know them more. Each evening we share group devotions together. Somali interprets so they we all know what is being shared.
Next week we plan to go to see the ancient temple site, Angkor Wat and help with the MSSM ministry in Siem reap with Somali and other other circuit rider. Just a little more than a week and we will be back in the US! It is a bittersweet feeling. Thank you for all of your prayers. We have been healthy and safe. Alethia had a minor mishap with her bike yesterday but thankfully she is fine and no injuries except for a bruise on her knee. Please continue to pray for our team as we finish up our time here. Also pray for those who will remain in Cambodia and not return with the team: Josh and Kyle are staying as gap year volunteers and Shannon, Vikki and Zoe will stay until December to help with Teen Missions here.
We will cherish the time we have left and surely miss this beautiful country and friendly people when we leave.
