Mangochi safari update

Greetings from TMI Chipoka Base. I (Josiah, Host missionary) am writing on behalf of the Mangochi Team. They had a very long and busy two days on their African Safari. They woke up early on Tuesday had a quick breakfast on the road and we headed off for Liwonde National Park. We arrived at the safari camp just outside the main gate of the park. The team was super excited about the chance to have HOT showers that night and sleep on a real bed with blankets. We went into the park and drove for about 45 minutes without seeing many animals. As I was driving I saw to my left something that looked like cows. My wife and I have been in the park many times and we knew what it was, buffalo! I moved the truck a little forward and turned onto the next road to get closer. We were able to get within a safe distance to see them with all their babies. Their had to be over 70 buffalo and it was an amazing sight. We then travel and soon saw a group of elephants, unfortunately the elephants were not showing their better half .

After about 6 hours in the park we drove back to the bush camp. The team was able to take hot showers and had a wonderful 3 course dinner. The lady leaders were very happy to have a break from cooking. The team got up in the morning and had a huge breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, roasted potatoes and lots of toast! Once again the lady leaders were very happy to not have to cook and the team was excited they did not have to wash any dishes!

Tomorrow we will be taking the team for their souvenir shopping! The team will then be getting packed up and ready to head back to the USA on Saturday morning. The leaders will be writing at least one more report before they leave for the airport on Saturday morning.

We want to thank the parents and family of the Malawi construction team. They have been a huge blessing to the ministry here in Malawi. We, the missionaries, thank you for your prayers while the team has been here in Malawi.
