Our time in Trinidad is almost over

We are sad that our time in Trinidad is almost over. The past few days have been jam-packed trying to fit everything in before we leave! The team worked hard on Tuesday and started laying blocks and digging the drain at the wall. We left early Wednesday to catch the ferry to Tobago and spent Wednesday and Thursday sightseeing and shopping. The kids had the opportunity to take a glass-bottomed boat tour, snorkel, and swim in the ocean on a sand bar. It was a wonderful experience that they will never forget! The next day we took the ferry early again, and then did some shopping in the Port of Spain back in Trinidad. We are back at the church now and are gearing up to work hard for the next two days getting as many blocks laid as possible. We will have church and a going-away party with our church family over here before we head back to Florida on Monday. The team is so sad to say good-bye to our family here, but excited to see family and friends back home.  -Alexis S.

Testimonies: For the work project, we are finally getting to lay blocks and have two rows in progress. The time has gone very fast and I am going to miss the people here. The trip to Tobago was a lot of fun. My favorite thing about the trip was the ferry ride. We took the ferry there and back and the ride took several hours. I also loved the glass bottom boat ride because the water was super clear and you could see all of the fish and coral. -Enoch C.

We are finally putting blocks up on the wall, which is a nice change from working with the concrete. I liked the trip to Tobago and had a ton of fun. My favorite thing was the second stop of the glass-bottomed boat when we were able to get in the water and play on a sandbar out in the ocean. I am glad there are only two work days left–the end is in sight. But I will miss Trinidad and the people who are all so nice. -Hannah B.

It has been a great time here and I love the Trinis and their food. The work project has been fun and has been a blast getting to know the Trinis who help at the work site. Overall, it has been a good and growing experience, and I love worshiping with the people at church. -Colton B.
