We are into our last week here in Ecuador. Time has gone by so quickly, yet so much has been done at the TMI property. Today wire the team is putting wire into the building for lights! Nothing fancy yet but it is nice to have power. Chicken coups are being built and the cistern hole is almost complete, then it’s a matter of pouring concrete for a floor and laying some block.
Saturday we worked for 1/2 a day and then went to the local mall for lunch. The teens like to get snacks at the grocery store while we are there as well. This is a nice break for everyone after a week of work and classes.
Last night was an enjoyable evening at a local church. The pastor and his wife are from Brazil and have been in Playas for 9 years as missionaries. They have invited us to share with them again on Tuesday evening in an open air meeting. The team was able to share their drama and it was well received, the testimonies hit the hearts of people as well. The afternoon was spent at the beach which is only a couple blocks away. The waves were good and the sun was hot making it a great day for swimming.
Again, thank you for allowing your children to be part of the Ecuador team, it has been a great experience for all of them.

Wow, our time here in Ecuador is flying by – it’s hard to believe that we have less than a week left before Debrief. We finished the outhouse, lean-to roof and some of the walls of the main building are finished. Since we didn’t get a drama class at Boot Camp, our leader Rachel and Former Teem Member Noah took it upon themselves to teach eight of us the drama “Battleground”. It was tons of fun, and we had the privilege to be able to preform it at church this past Sunday. Although I am looking forward to being back with my family, it will be hard to leave all of the friends I’ve made this summer. Stephanie S.
