After some long tough hours on the road repair project the team enjoyed a few days off to visit the majestic Grand Canyon. It was actually a three-day journey. On Friday, we travelled almost three hours to Gray Mountain Bible Church (they are located just an hour from the Grand Canyon). We had a fun evening of sharing activities with the local church members and youth. After some games and a great meal (provided by the church), the team gave a full presentation with dramas, puppets and testimonies. On Saturday, the team journeyed to the Grand Canyon (south rim) and started with the Watch Tower and other outlooks before stopping for a picnic lunch in the woods. We then got back on the bus and continued to the main Visitor Center. We read the displays and watched videos about the Grand Canyon. It was a very multi-national scene with hundreds of foreign tourists also enjoying the beauty around us. God does good work! On Sunday we enjoyed another awesome breakfast provided by Tim’s mom, Ms Laura. We then headed to Flagstaff to attend Flagstaff Indian Bible Church. The team shared a full presentation and Jeremiah Yonnie (one of our leaders) gave the morning message from the book of Mark. Afterwards the church members presented some ‘thank you’ gifts to the team members… handmade Navajo necklaces. We also enjoyed an amazing lunch provided by the church.
Today, we started the Native American Boot Camp Debrief. It will run for three days (Monday – Wednesday). On Thursday, the Native American team members will head home. Our FTM team plans to begin heading to Florida on Friday to begin three days of driving!
Thanks for all of your prayers and support for us this summer!

Hey guys, It’s Abby again. This trip was amazing! God has taught me so much on this trip and has shown me many things in my life that I need to change. This trip went by so fast. It felt like a dream. I am very happy that I actually came to Teen Missions. Since it’s Debrief, I’ve been thinking a lot about my experiences here throughout the trip. It’s sad to know that we only have two days left, because the teens on this team have become so close together. It’s like we’re a family. Going through debrief classes got me thinking about how I am going to apply it into my home life. The verse that came to mind while they were talking about it was Mark 16:15 which says, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” My time here has been amazing and I have fallen in love with the Navajo Nation and will miss fellowshipping with them and just sharing stories and laughing. This experience will stick with me for the rest of my life. It impacted my life beyond words. I thank all my supporters and prayer partners for helping me be here. P.S. Hey Mom & Mark… I can’t wait to see you and tell you about this summer. Love you guys! See ya soon!! —Abby H.
This week we are doing Debrief. We are being reminded about what we have learned over the summer so that we can use what we’ve learned at home and in our community. I have learned a lot about how to evangelize and have grown much closer to God in prayer and worship. —Ryan P.
