Only 1 1/2 days of work left. It’s amazing how much has been done at the worksite, I will include before and after pictures for everyone. This has been a busy week but a good week. Sunday night we enjoyed church with our Brazilian friends, Tuesday evening we had church with the Church of God congregation, Thursday we took the day to relax with a boat ride to a barrier island where we were able to swim and enjoy a lunch of fried fish or shrimp. We tried to see the blue footed booby but the waves were a bit too big for us to get close enough, we did get to see dolphins gliding just under the water and jump around our boats.
Project update this week includes pouring the floor of the room that will serve as a kitchen in our building and today (Friday) the floor of the temporary living quarters will be poured. The chicken coup is complete and the outhouse is complete. The team is able to enjoy the shade provided by the lean to…a great place to eat lunch and do library reading!
Our next two days will be full as well. Saturday night we will be involved in an open air meeting in the town square and Sunday morning is church. We will then pack up clean up, do our weekly quizzing of memory versed, and be ready to board a bus for Guayaquil where they will board a flight to Florida for debrief.
Richard and I will remain in Ecuador until December but we will help Rachel, our assistant leader, get everyone boarded in Ecuador and staff member Kathy Vanderpool will meet the team in Panama to help escort them to Florida.
It’s been a busy 5 weeks here but so much has been done to further the Kingdom of God in Ecuador. We all look forward to future reports of young people going through the Teen Missions Boot Camp and the BMW. It’s exciting to be on the ground floor of this new venture in Playas.
