Looking for the adventure of a lifetime? Then serve the Lord this summer in Nicaragua and see what He can do through you, as you work and share the Gospel among school children in Nejapa.

Dates: June 17 – August 4, 2017nicaragua

Teen Missions Trip (ages 13-19)

Travel:  After your training at the Lord’s Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport and board a flight that takes you across the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean Sea to Panama City, Panama. From Panama City your connecting flight takes you over the Panama Canal and Costa Rica before arriving in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. From the airport, a two-hour bus ride takes you to your project in Nejapa.

Ministry:  Your project is to construct a wall to surround the El Samaritano school property by digging the footers, pouring the concrete and laying cement blocks for the walls. Not only is there plenty of work, but plenty of opportunities in the surrounding barrios for evangelism using puppetry, singing and drama to present the love of Jesus to these children.

Adventure:  After your project, you will take a boat trip to the Islets of Granada located in Lake Nicaragua. These islets were formed when the Mombacho Volcano erupted and threw huge rocks into the lake. Visit the open market to shop for souvenirs such as hammocks, handmade pottery, t-shirts, wall hangings and more.

Project Expense: $3290 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee

  1. When purchasing a camera for my trip, is it recommend that I bring a rechargeable camera or one that requires disposable batteries.

  2. Hi- I also have a 14 year old son who is interested in the Nicaragua trip. Can you tell me how much is due and when? Thank you!

    • Christine, The total amount is due by the day he arrives for Boot Camp. We ask that $300 be in within 30 days and the total cost by May 15. However, those are “goals”. The absolute last date is June 17.

  3. Melinda (Mindy) Conley

I am a former team member (Guatemala 91). I am excited that we will be able to get some updates. My daughter is going on this team. I was wondering is there a way to connect with the leaders or other team members before boot camp? Or is it still the same where everyone meets at boot camp?

    • Melinda, Thank you for your post! Some of the team members and parents have set up FB accounts for their teams. We ask that the leaders not communicate on these sites as communication needs to come through the office.

      • Melinda (Mindy) Conley

That is great! Thanks for the information. Looking forward to this life changing summer for my kids. My son is also going to Ecuador.

  4. Is there still room on this trip for my 14 year old son?

  5. Hey Beth! My mom is an FTM and was there when there was a boot camp wedding. We were wondering if there is a video of it anywhere.

  6. Is it possible for me to get the address of the school we will be going to?

  7. Hi! I was wondering if there are still any spots left for this team?

  8. My friends 18 and I’m 21 and I would love to go to this. Would that be possible since im above the age limit?

    • Miriam. Yes, that is fine. You will need to realize that almost everyone will be younger than you and that may include the assistant leaders. You might want to consider going as a leader. If interested, please call our office.

  9. After registration, about how long will it take for the information packet to arrive?

    • Hope, It takes about a week. You should receive an email once the complete registration is received. if you haven’t received an email, please call the office.

      • Ok, I was wondering because I had registered right after Christmas break and it hadn’t arrived yet. But, it arrived a few hours after you replied. One more question: Is the DVD in the information packet supposed to be blank or have stuff on it? The one that arrived with the packet is empty.

        • Hope, Please email the office and we will send you another one ([email protected]). Throw the one you have away!

  10. Are there any other specifications for boots besides just 6- or 8-inch boots? Are we supposed to have steel toe?

    • Katharine, Steel toes are not needed. They must be all leather (except tongue and very top of boot can be of another material), no cortex and lace up (no zippers).

  11. Hi! I am considering going on this trip. Although, I do have medical problems. Nothing serious, but something that might limit my physical activity. Would this be a problem? Thanks. -Elizabeth B
