Mongolia — “Land of Blue Skies” — land of Genghis Khan, yurts (Mongolian nomad tents) and Bactrian (two hump) camels!
Dates: June 17 – August 11, 2017
Teen Missions Trip (ages 13-19)
Travel: After completing Boot Camp training, you bus to the Miami International Airport to board a flight across the Atlantic Ocean, France, and the Swiss Alps before arriving in Istanbul, Turkey. A connecting flight takes you across the Caspian Sea, Kazakhstan and the steppes of the Gobi Desert before landing in Ulaan Baatar, the capital of Mongolia. It is a two hour drive to the Boot Camp location.
Ministry: Here you will help set up the yurts and the Obstacle Course as you prepare for the arrival of the Mongolian team members. You will be involved in teaching puppets, music, drama and construction classes, as well as lead rallies and someone on your team will get to be Mr. O.C. and Miss Piggy! After Commissioning, your next project is to help with renovations at an orphanage. There will be time to play games with the children and teach Bible stories and English along with your work projects.
Adventure: There will be time for you to take a horseback ride across the rolling hills of Mongolia. You will be able to barter for Mongolian cashmere, traditional clothing, stuffed camels and a variety of handicrafts to remind you of your summer in the “Land of Blue Skies”!
Estimated Project Expense: $4790—4990 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee
Note: Updated Project Expense is scheduled to post November 1, 2016, after confirming airline prices.
