Petersen Post

“But Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are

if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.”

Hebrews 3:6

Dear Family and Friends,

Once again we are so thankful to all of you for your prayers and gifts that make it possible for us to continue in the work of the Lord. We are very much in need of prayer as we wait to go back to Zambia, sincefaciliators-cr-staff much is going on there. Doug is in touch with the staff men, talking to them one or more times each week. In the meantime, we are working in the home office. We hope to go back in the late Fall.

Medical Team:

There will be a team of doctors and one lawyer who are going to Zambia in the middle of October. They will be visiting three Rescue Units as well as a new hospital that is not too far from our rural Rescue Units on the Lufwanyama road. The hospital has agreed to let them use space in its new facility. It is still trying to get doctors who are willing to come live out in the bush. Thomas Kabwata and Oscar Chama are working hard on the logistics, getting permits and other needed things in place. There will be an eye doctor coming who will do cataract surgery. We are expecting many testimonies from those who are not seeing clearly or not at all who will be able to regain dsc03526their sight. Pray for those who need this help.

Please Pray:

The staff is still working to ready good reliable transportation for the medical team. Things tend to move slowly when trying to obtain vehicle parts. Time tends to fly by so pray that everything will be ready and work well.

A huge praise:

We have received word that Teen Missions International in Zambia has received their clearance to bring in items duty free. Teen Missions International in the US is preparing a container to send a well drilling rig along with other items in the near future. We are very grateful to God for this open door. It has literally taken years, along with many times that our request has been side lined. We felt that was possibly due to our failure to cooperate with bribes. But again we are thankful for our staff (especially Oscar Chama) for they have worked tirelessly this past year to push through. They received favor with the government officials this time. The officials couldn’t believe after all these years we didn’t have a permit and helped to get it issued. We praise God for the favor and that we have the documents needed in hand.

Another praise:

We are very blessed to be moved into our new home. We are still on the same street, the same lot, the same img_4010address. We were able with God’s blessing, to move into the new mobile home about a month ago. We still have some boxes to empty, but little by little it is getting done. This was a real need as our old one was beginning to have a “musty-ness” that we would have to fight each time we returned. This affected Doug’s lungs. The move has made us look at all of our earthly goods once again and realize the things that we don’t need and out they go. We had lived in the former home since 1985. Thanks be to God for His goodness in allowing everything to work out. We praise God for all who helped us both financially and with the move. Our daughter Sarah was magnificent. She organized everything and almost single handedly got us moved out so the other home could come in and then moved us back in again. We thank Sarah’s friend, Chris, who also packed and moved things. Since Steve returned from Arizona Boot Camp, he has been a big blessing as well.

Prayer Request:

Please pray for God’s direction regarding our return. Doug has had some health issues. We are believing God’s Word as we stand in faith. We know that His Word is true. We are still waiting for results on another test. We will see what the doctors recommend. Right now Doug is trying to get through to the South African Hospital where he had a surgery clear back in 2004. The U.S. doctor wants to see that old report.

img_3796Please pray:

For Zambia as they carry on. May they be faithful and anointed in the work of the Lord. We really miss them.

Thank you again for your prayers and support. God has used all of you above and beyond what we could ask or think!

Thank you for joining your hands with ours as we labor together in His Harvest.

Love and blessings to all of you!

Doug and Barb
