I hope you all had a meaningful Easter. It is so great to focus on the death and resurrection of Christ so intently during the Lent/Easter season. It’s even better when we begin to let it have an impact on our daily lives. One of the best applications of the resurrection comes from Paul’s writing to the Ephesians where he talks of, “His (God’s) incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms.” -Ephesians 1:19-20.
Whatever areas we are feeling defeated in or incompetent to be what Christ has for us to be, God uses the same power that He used to raise Christ from the dead. If He can raise Christ from the dead, what can hold us back as we put our faith in Him to become more than conquerors? I pray that you will continue to find victory in these days!
Jonathan has moved to Idaho Falls to work for a company that does maintenance and fixes up bank-owned homes. He is using some skills he learned from working at Hope House and is learning more on the way. Idaho is a great state for him with the outdoor life and cooler winters.
Abby has moved to Uganda for a year. She and her friend Mindy are in Koboko in northwestern Uganda. They have already ministered among orphans and worked at Teen Missions’ other base in Jinja. In Koboko, they are having to be careful with water since there is a severe drought. In these first weeks they are scouting out which areas to minister over the next year.
Hannah has been enjoying her first couple weeks at Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Orlando. The classes can be intense, but they have had an impact on her already. After the first three months of training, her team, of about a dozen, will travel to South Africa for two months of outreach. She has been meeting some new friends and looks forward to the months ahead. She worked hard to pay for the training portion and is looking for anyone who would like to serve the Lord with her financially for part of the $4,000.00 outreach cost.
Luke just returned from visiting Lexie and some other friends in Alberta, Canada. Luke and Lexie met on his team to Panama several years ago and we have been happy to see her in Florida many times. This time he was able to go visit her family. Working and school has kept him busy this year and he is anticipating being done with school over the next few months.
Grace has just gotten her Driving Permit. It’s hard to believe how they are all growing up. She worked hard this year at Youth Bible Quizzing and made it to #6 in the B League of the Southeast regional finals for our denomination. She skillfully recited many verses and answered lots of questions at the quiz meets. Grace is going to Nicaragua on a team this summer and has some friends going on the team as well.
Benjamin has officially become a teenager in April. One of his birthday presents was a tent. Caleb and he had a week of adventures tenting in the backyard during spring break. He likes helping in our Video Department at Teen Missions when he can. He did well also in Youth Bible Quizzing.
Caleb is looking forward to going to Trinidad with Dawn and Benjamin and me this summer. He is growing up too and helping around the house, even cooking. Whenever we get a chance, Caleb loves it when we can come to Teen Missions to ride mini-bikes. You can often find him reading a book in his spare time.
The Big Tops are up at Boot Camp which means in a few short weeks hundreds of team members and leaders will be arriving for a life-changing summer. Our staff is doubling the prayer efforts during the month of May and having a morning of prayer so that there will be a move of God whenever someone is on this property or in one of our programs. During the year, we pray each work hour of each work day, so now there will be two per hour. Will you join us? See prayer requests at the end.
August 19- September 10 will be a time for us to travel, meeting up with supporters and those interested in taking the Gospel around the world. We will be sharing about the many ways God has worked this summer both here at The Lord’s Boot Camp and around the world. We would love to share with you and a few friends at your house about the exciting things God is doing. If you would like to have us come by your place and/or church to share, let me know ASAP as we are planning the trip now. Call us at 321-338-7239
Thanks for all that you do in joining with us in this kingdom work. We could not be here without our financial supporters. We could not be of use without our Prayer Partners. Those who encourage us in a variety of ways help us to make it through each day. We are in GREAT need for partners at this time. Being at less than 50% financial support for the last year and a half makes it hard to sustain our work here. However God leads you to be a part of our ministry team for summer mission trips or on an ongoing basis means a great deal to us. You can indicate how you are joining with us by using the coupon below.
-Spiritual growth and safety for all of our teams this summer
