Dates: June 16 – August 10, 2018
Teen Missions Trip (ages 13-19)
Work & Evangelism Team
Get ready for a summer you will never forget on the exotic island nation of Madagascar! You will help change the lives of people with poor eyesight, who will see clearly for the first time after being fitted with eyeglasses. You will also receive basic first-aid training to assist in treating those who come for help.
Travel: After completing your specialized training at the Lord’s Boot Camp, you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Washington D.C. before boarding a flight across the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and the Sahara Desert to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. From Addis, a connecting flight takes you across Kenya and the Indian Ocean to Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. From Antananarivo you bus two days south along the coast, with an overnight in Ranomafana, to the Teen Missions Bible, Missionary & Work (BMW) Training Center in Vangaindrano, on the Indian Ocean.
Ministry: From the base, you will travel to different villages to hold eyeglass clinics, meeting the needs of those who come. In addition, you may assist the Rescue Unit facilitators with their daily medical treatments. You will help at the Sunday schools by teaching Bible lessons, phonics, quizzing and playing games with the children. There will be opportunities to share the Gospel through puppets, music and dramas. When the team is at the base, you will be involved with the BMW students’ ministries and work projects.
Adventure: Enjoy a day at the Tsimbazaza Zoo where you will see lemurs. You will have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs, such as drums, jewelry and wood carvings to help you remember your amazing summer.
Project Expense: $5190 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee
Please note that the projects have been chosen up to a year before they are published. Therefore, projects can change, even at the last minute. Please come with a servant’s heart and be eager to do whatever the mission has a need for, regardless of what was specified. We have been invited back to many places because of our willingness to do whatever is needed. ALL teams are work teams in addition to the project listed. Teams are filled on a first come, first served basis.
“The people here in Madagascar are so friendly, and really eager to learn about Christ!”

“The children make all the hard work well worth it. If you’re thinking about the team…Go for it! It will be the adventure of your life.”
Justus G. | 2017 Madagascar Team
"Life has been pretty fun here, with lots of eyeglass clinics and miracles performed right before our eyes. We have seen countless blind people see, and vision improved greatly through prayer. Our team has bonded really well and been able to make our outreach that much more successful. The food has been super yummy, and we all feel that it improves with each meal. We have also all enjoyed being “unplugged” for the summer and really focused on our relationships with the Lord. I personally have been able to deepen my relationship with Christ and learn countless things about Him and His plan for me. I am excited to continue our ministry here, and even take it back home to all of my friends and family."
