Samuel & Redika McCracken Newsletter (Winter 2018)

Dear Family, Ministry Partners, Friends, and FTM’s,

“I have found that there are three stages in every great work of God: first it is impossible, then it is difficult, and then it is done.”

– Hudson Taylor (Pioneering missionary to China in the 1800’s)

Happy New Year Everyone!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from us to you all

We are so thankful for 2017 and all our dear friends who have been a great blessing to us throughout the year of 2017. Thank you so much for your encouragements, prayers and support—you enable us to serve our King here in Florida. We are so excited for the year of 2018 and the new things that God has prepared for us in His service.

We rejoice that thousands of orphans are being blessed with English and Bible teaching through our 212 Sunday Schools held in their villages. We rejoice that there are more than 384 kids signed up for life-changing experiences next summer at the 2018 Lord’s Boot Camp. There have been a lot of improvements at the missions base in Cambodia where Redika and I served. We and other staff and students helped to start the foundation on a new six-room dorm building for the new BMW training school that opened there last year and the students are expanding ministry into more public schools and villages.  We have learned that the building project is almost done! All glory to our Lord!

Family Time!

Time spent with our sister and brother

We were so blessed to spend the holidays with family, dear friends, and ministry partners, as well as all our dear friends at our home church, Calvary Chapel La Mesa. We had fun hiking in beautiful Torrey Pines with my brother and his girlfriend, and enjoyed breathtaking views overlooking the ocean below. Our dear friend, Michael Metzner, drove us down to Rosarito Beach in Mexico for a day of some authentic Mexican food and shopping for souvenirs! Quite a cultural experience! Redika and I enjoyed a fun trip to Hollywood, saw the famous Chinese Theater and drove up to the Hollywood sign. What a view! We are sorry that we did not get to visit some of you during Christmas time. Redika was in poor health and we spent a lot of time with family. We are so thankful and grateful for all of our dear friends who rejoiced with us in the great things God has done, is doing, and will do in and through all of us, and for those who have sacrificially partnered with us enabling us to have this great time with our family and friends.

Redika and I have been spending our mornings helping out at Teen Missions. Redika continues her work and translation work in the Motorcycle Sunday School Mission (MSSM) office and I continue to do lots of landscaping outside. I have also helped with loading a container with 400 lb. bales of clothes and shoes that have been donated for us to send to Africa. God is good!

We have been spending our afternoons helping out at J.O.Y. RV Park (which AIDS Orphans owns), of which the profits greatly help support our AIDS Orphans work overseas. Redika helps in cleaning the facility, in the office, and sometimes works on outside projects with me. I help landscape and mow around the property using the big Kubota riding mower (which is quite fun!). I have also been helping with other needed outside projects like patching holes in the roads, filling in low spots caused by rain and vehicles,  and making brick walkways for a few of the RV’s owned by the park. We enjoy meeting and serving the many guests there and witnessing to them as God leads and gives opportunity. Please pray for Paul, who was raised Catholic and who is VERY hungry seeking God and spends hours each day reading the Bible and books on Creation to help him figure out what he believes and should believe. It is refreshing to see someone so hungry for the truths of God!

We are so thankful for all of our dear friends who faithfully pray for us and also partner with us through your finances. You really bless us a lot and we are so grateful for each one of you. If God leads you to partner with us in any way, you can securely do so at

Emails, letters, notes of encouragement, and FB messages are all greatly appreciated and encourage us in our work for Jesus! Please send us your prayer requests so we can effectively invest in your lives as you have so faithfully done in ours.
