2017 was a busy year and a sad one for both of us. My mom passed away in April and my aunt, mom’s sister, passed away in June and then in October, Emery’s sister, Edy, passed away– we are hoping not to have another year like this in the near future.
Emery and I are both on the board of Motorcycle Sunday School Missions (MSSM) which is a partner ministry of Teen Missions. MSSM goes to places overseas that may be difficult to access and puts on a Sunday School. The Circuit Riders are the teachers and are in the ministry of discipling by getting to know the people, families and kids. They pray, play games, teach English and phonics, memorize scripture, hold competitive quizzing competitions, teach Bible stories to share about Jesus and get involved with the community! Even some adults come and learn how to read and write for the first time. It is amazing to hear the stories that come back to us from them. Some are below.
Christmas Eve we were at Matthew’s house for supper and the kids got to open one present. Then Christmas morning we went to watch them open stockings and the rest of their presents. We had breakfast and then went back to our house. It is fun to have the time with the kids. They are getting older and growing up too fast. We took them for an outing to Orlando to go up in the Orlando Eye, which is a big ferris wheel. Each car or “capsule” on the Orlando Eye holds up to 10 people. It was a little hazy, but we could see a lot. We try to get to Bass Pro each Christmas to get a picture of the kids with Santa which is fun for us all.
We are so grateful for those of you who pray for us and support us financially. THANK YOU!
