The Madagascar MSSM Team Is Adjusting Well!

Ten more days!   That’s what the team was cheering tonight at the Rally.  The Madagascar Eyeglass team is growing closer together and having fun at Boot Camp.  It has been such an encouragement to see the team enjoying their classes and no one seems to be complaining.  Everyone has their eyes focused on traveling to Madagascar and ministering there.
The weather has been gorgeous for the past few days.  Although the temperatures have been high, we have not experienced any rain.  This has kept the spirits high.
Today was day three of Boot Camp classes.  The team spends their morning in free time and doing their laundry or taking a bath.  After lunch the team has drama, music, puppets and phonics classes.  The team looks forward to these classes.  In the evening we spend time worshiping and fellowshipping with other team members during evening rallies.  We have had some great speakers during Rally who have been challenging the team members to examine themselves and commit to follow Christ.   The team has had some wonderful time in the evening sharing and getting to know each other.  We are looking forward to the next 10 days as we prepare to leave.  Thank you for your continued prayers for our team as we train at the Lord’s Boot Camp.

Team Testimonies:

Hi guys, I’m super excited to go to Madagascar, especially since it’s so hot here.  We still have a while here at Boot Camp, so I’m trying not to get too excited.  Anyways, Boot Camp is fun and hard, the Obstacle Course isn’t easy, but it’s satisfying after the whole team completes it.  Mornings for our team are more relaxed, afternoons we have classes and evenings are my favorite because of Rally. – Madi Y.

Arriving at Boot Camp was amazing and a totally different experience than what I’m used to.  Everything from the Obstacle Course to classes and worship are a once in a lifetime experience.  Only thing I wish was that I’d packed better, lol.  God is teaching me and growing me in a totally different ways than I expected. – Wes

So far, Boot Camp has definitely been a learning experience.  My team is already getting to grow together as a family.  The classes are a great experience for when we actually go to the field. – Grace

Boot Camp is a blast!  (And no, the leaders did not tell me to say that!). I have been keeping up with my laundry and the bug bites and sunburn are at a minimum.  I have been enjoying all my classes, especially Drama with Ms. Michelle and Puppets with Ms. Linda.  In our free time I enjoy a good shower, work on my laundry and take the occasional swim.  In short, Boot Camp is an incredible learning experience that I am enjoying immensely.  – Shannon

It’s been three full days of Boot Camp!  It’s been a wonderful experience! My team is amazing! So are my leaders.  The Lord has been working in my heart so much.  He’s taught me that I’m never alone.  I am someone who is prone to getting super homesick.  So, when our first memory verse was Joshua 1:9 “Have not I commanded thee, be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with me whithersoever thou goest.”It hit me hard.  That verse continues to be my favorite verse because it tells me that I am never alone.  Also, while running the OC, your team is always with you.  You are never alone. – Lydia
