Our team has been busy learning how to share God’s Word through puppets, drama and music. They are really enjoying the classes and are doing well at working together as a team. We only have two more days of training classes, Wednesday and Thursday. Then on Friday we begin packing out and starting to tear down Boot Camp.
We got to swim in the pool one day for winning the Godliness Award. How refreshing it was to get a break from the heat. We are looking forward to the “winter” weather we will be getting when we arrive in South Africa.
Some news from some of the team members:
Haley —I am so excited to be here!!! Only five days until we leave for Africa. 🙂 My favorite class is Drama. So far we have learned four dramas. My favorite drama is called Battle Ground and it is about spiritual warfare. Most of the time I make it over the Slough on the Obstacle Course. Although Boot Camp is hard (lots of walking), I have to remember Phil 4:13…”I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” And when I am scared, I remember Jeremiah 29:11…”For I know the plans that I have for you saith the Lord. Plans to prosper and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.”
Faith —Hello! These are some of my favorite things about Boot Camp…I love our team, I love all of the classes and how I am learning and growing a LOT!! My very favorite part of Boot Camp is our Personal Devotion time we have every morning. God is showing me so many great things. Thank you for all your prayers.
Abigail —Boot Camp is so crazy (a good crazy). The Lord has taught me so much in the brief time here so far. I love being here and singing to God with a bunch of teens who love Him as much as I do! The environment here is so cool and the classes are amazing! This is my second summer with Teen Missions and I am so glad I came back.
Abby —My team is so awesome! I love getting to know them and work with them. There are so many nice people here on my team and on other teams. It has been a great experience and I highly recommend it.
Sami —Boot Camp is one of the most intense summer camps I have ever experienced. SB’s (Special Blessings) are not as bad as what people say. I have had to serve two so far and I didn’t mind that much. Jumping in the lake has been a highlight of my time here and I can’t wait for Commissioning.
