The work project on the Life-Sized replica of the Old Testament Tabernacle has progressed steadily. The north side of the courtyard fence posts are now up and the east side should be up tomorrow. We have two sets of scaffolding setup to assist with raising the walls and the first corner went up this afternoon. A large area of grass and scrub bushes inside the courtyard has been cleared and the team began clearing the area for the visitor tent today. Some of the team finished removing the extra dirt from leveling the inside of the tabernacle. The team visited two different MSSM locations in Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. At both locations they continued to share different organized games, music, drama, puppets and phonics. We also used the Saber audio player to share some of the scripture lesson in the local Tswana language. The team has continued to grow closer and we’ve enjoyed hearing their insights during group devotions, sharing time, Bible Studies and our “GG” classes. Jason and Karen Shrock have been awesome host missionaries and have taken great care of us. To everyone back home… we so appreciate your prayers… keep ‘em coming!!
I just got out of the sick tent on Wednesday morning, but the team got a lot of work done while I was in there. We’re almost done clearing brush and digging. We got the scaffolding set up and we got our first wall put up today. The team has been getting along really well and we’re really good at working together. We’ve accomplished so much already and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish over the next few weeks.
We have been here for 9 days and our team has accomplished so much. Today we put up our first wall of the Tabernacle and for the most part finished clearing our work site. I miss my friends back at Boot Camp and am sad not to see some of them at Debrief. Anyway…life is good, food is good, Africa is good and God is Great!
