Spend your summer in the beautiful foothills of the Andes Mountains in Ecuador.
Ecuador— South America
Dates: June 15 – August 2, 2019
Travel: Following Boot Camp training, you will bus to the Orlando International Airport where you will board your flight to Ecuador. Passing over Cuba and the Caribbean Sea to Panama City, Panama, your connecting flight will take you to Quito, the capital of Ecuador. From Quito you travel three hours by bus to the Teen Missions in Ecuador base located near La Concordia.
Ministry: The project is to continue work on the multi-purpose building which was started last year. This will be used for the Teen Missions in Ecuador Bible, Missionary & Work training classes, Boot Camp classes and rallies, and for future conference center gatherings. The Ecuador Boot Camp will be running while you are there, so you may have opportunity to judge an obstacle on the Obstacle Course (O.C.), be Mr. O.C., or teach a class; there are many possibilities during Boot Camp. If time permits, you will get to see the process of making cocoa and enjoy some real hot chocolate or cake made from the beans of the cocoa plants grown right on the property.
Adventure: Although you pass over the Equator every time you travel to La Concordia from the base, what is a trip to Ecuador without visiting Ciudad Mitad del Mundo? Here, you can stand in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres at the same time, and there is an ample supply of souvenirs for shopping. If time permits, you may get to visit a local cultural center where you will learn about the life of the area’s national Indian tribe.
Project Expense: $3290 U.S. plus $30 Registration FeeRegister
Please note that the projects have been chosen up to a year before they are published. Therefore, projects can change, even at the last minute. Please come with a servant’s heart and be eager to do whatever the mission has a need for, regardless of what was specified. We have been invited back to many places because of our willingness to do whatever is needed. ALL teams are work teams in addition to the project listed. Teams are filled on a first come, first served basis.
“Ecuador is even more beautiful than I’d imagined, every sunrise and starry sky continues to amaze me. The people here at camp are so kind and despite the language barrier, we’ve all found friends in the Playas national team members. Although it’s only been a few weeks, I can already see the work God has done here both in and through us.”
Morgan B. | 2017 Ecuador Team
“The Ecuador mission trip has been a wild ride with sightseeing, new people, new food and hard work. We have had some Ecuadorian kids from the Playas team working with us. We have been able to spend time with them as they do their mission trip with us. Together we can spread the Gospel in this country more efficiently. When I get a little homesick, I am so thankful that I have a home to be sick for.”
Jacob B. | 2017 Ecuador Team
“This trip has been amazing! The whole team has enjoyed working with the nationals and we were blessed to attend their Commissioning Service. We all learn new things about each other daily and I have made many great friends on my team and in Ecuador.”
