Pat Storey Newsletter (Spring 2019)

Dear Friends,

I want you all to know how very thankful I am for you!  You are each such a huge blessing to me and I hope you know how much you mean to me.  Sometimes it’s a little difficult being so far away from family and friends, but in spite of that, I couldn’t be happier.  I absolutely love that God made a way for me to serve Him here.

Here, at Teen Missions, we are rapidly making preparations for Boot Camp which is only about 60 days away as I write this.  I will be leading the team to Uganda this year along with three other people.  We currently have 17 teens signed up to go with us.  Uganda is a foot washing team this year, which means we will be taking as many pairs of shoes as we can with us and our project will be to wash feet, give first aid, and new shoes and socks, to the many children who come to our Rescue Units.   Many have never had a pair of shoes before and there are many deaths there from infection because of cuts and scrapes to bare feet.  Without the means to get help when you need medicine or a doctor and no way to even keep wounds clean, it can be very dangerous.

One of my assistant leaders, Lilliana, lives here in Merritt Island and we have been meeting on Monday evenings to pray for each team member and the time we will spend at Boot Camp and Uganda.  It is such a blessing to be able to get together with her and not only pray with her, but get to know her a little better before Boot Camp arrives and there’s no time.  God is good!!!

Please pray for us as we travel, teach and train these young people!

We were able to get Big Top #2 up and  the huge Big Top #1.  There is still a lot to do to get ready, but once the Big Tops are up, things start getting exciting and we all begin to anticipate arrival day and meeting our team.  Please pray for safety for our staff as we get everything ready.

But, before Boot Camp, we will host the Teen Missions Mud Run.  I believe this is our fourth year and people seem to really love our course.  We have a lot of swampy jungle-like property and so along with many of the obstacles from our Boot Camp obstacle course, we add a few more and make a very good 5k Mud Run.  Please pray for safety on Mud Run day as well and that it will be a fun, productive day as it is a big fundraiser for the ministry.  It’s almost as exciting as teen arrival day for Boot Camp and this year it will be held on May 4th.  Come on down and volunteer for the day if you can!  You will have a blast!

Things are beginning to settle down as we all adjust to our new leadership and learn all that we need to accomplish.  We are still quite short-staffed, so we are all working very hard to keep up with everything that needs to get done.  If you have ever considered doing something in missions, Teen Missions is a great place to “get your feet wet”.  Our main purpose is to introduce teenagers to missions on short term summer missions trips in an effort to give them an experience that God could use to guide them to the mission field.  But we also have bases, Bible schools, Sunday schools and Rescue Units all around the world where thousands of very needy people are able to come for help.

Currently, we have work going on in the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Zambia, Uganda, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Cameroon, Madagascar, Honduras, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.  We are working toward holding a Canada Boot Camp in 2020.  We have a team going there this summer to help get the property ready.  Our Australia base hasn’t had a Boot Camp for the past couple of years and we are planning to reopen that Boot Camp this December.

There is so much work to do all over the world and we could really use your help.  Or come down for a short time and volunteer at the headquarters here in Florida.  There is always work to be done and it would give you a chance to see exactly what we do.  OR just come to visit me!!! I would absolutely love to see you, catch up and show you around!!!!

As always, I want to express my deepest thanks to each of you who help to make this ministry and my serving here possible.  I really can’t tell you how much I appreciate you and your help financially as well as your prayers for us as we continue to work to proclaim the Gospel to people who have never heard it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

I pray you have a blessed summer.  Stay safe and please keep me and my team in your prayers!!

Serving Him,

Pat Storey
