Steve & Gay Petersen Newsletter (Spring 2019)

Dear Friends,

Happening This Spring

‘Outside’… We have a new roof on our office! A new roof is also being installed on our Boot Camp kitchen building. Other renovations and cleanup are ongoing.

‘Under the Hood’… We have been able to update our Core Values, Organization ByLaws, and other policies to better serve our staff and safeguard the transparency and integrity of the ministry moving forward. Teen Missions is applying to rejoin the ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) and has already joined SOE (Standards of Excellence) in short-term missions.

‘On the Road’… A large contingent of staff and students helped run the teen and children’s programs at the Teach Them Diligently (TTD) homeschooling conference in Rogers, Arkansas. Among the highlights was meeting Ray Comfort of Living Waters! I also made a trip to the TMI bases in the Philippines and Cambodia. I held meetings for the purpose of encouraging the staff and finding ways to improve our training. There are many open doors into unreached areas that can be established together with partnerships with local churches.

Other Events

We are pushing forward with several more large Teach Them Diligently (TTD) conferences in cities across the country. Gay and I drove the bus to the TTD in Waco, TX.  Timothy and Faith joined us with a few other staff who volunteered to work with the children’s program. Teen Missions will also be coordinating the youth programs in Denver, CO.

It’s beginning to look more like Boot Camp as Big Tops #1 and #2 were put up in April.  Our annual 5K Mud Run is coming up the first week in May (we also need volunteers for this event). We are excited about this year’s Boot Camp. Pray with us that it will be the best ever! Gay and I are currently assigned to the Zambia Well Drilling team. Timothy is on the Canada Leadership Development team and Faith is going on the Ecuador team.

Timothy & Faith Update

Timothy has started working at Port Canaveral (loading Disney Cruise Ships) in addition to mowing lawns. Schooling is the main daily activity of course 🙂 Faith is adjusting to life with braces! She’s still relearning to pronounce her words…providing a few chuckles along the way. She’s also moving to the next level in her piano lessons. We so appreciate Hannah’s faithful efforts to teach her! We are also grateful for their awesome youth group and youth leaders providing solid Bible teaching, worship, fellowship and ministry opportunities.

•TMI has joined Ministry Safe and added much-needed training for our staff and students

•Steve & Hope Stiffler (former staff) came from Michigan to offer American Heart Association First Aid and CPR training for our staff & students—a valuable resource during the summer team program.

•For the new roof on our main office building

•For wide open doors for ministry in the Philippines and Cambodia

•All of Timothy and Faith’s team support has come in

•For revival in our hearts that will be contagious this summer

•For safety and health on our teams this summer

•For those impacted by severe flooding in Malawi & Zimbabwe — that our bases can provide much-needed relief

Thank You!

We have been blessed with the best support team on the planet! Thank you again for your words of encouragement, prayers and financial support. You have an equal part in an eternal treasure of changed lives!

Together in His Harvest,

Steve, Gay, Timothy & Faith Petersen
