The Canada Team Is Serving Others At Boot Camp

What an amazing week! It’s hard to believe one week ago the Canada team arrived at the Lord’s Boot Camp on one of the wettest arrival days in recent memory. The team dodged tropical deluges to move into their tents and get to know their teammates. Throughout this past week, the team has spent their mornings training in servant leadership skills that focused on Biblical literacy, life skills and service. The team was excited as they discovered new truths in Scripture, gifting that the Lord has given them and discussed how they can serve throughout the summer. The afternoons have been spent learning about specific departments which they will be able to work in during Boot Camp. On Friday everyone had an opportunity to spend time in our assigned departments. Elena and McKenzie are helping in the kitchen; Kymberly and Grace are working with teams on their music; Caleb, Peter and Gabe will be working with the team members who have Special Blessings; Sabrina and Tim are helping teach in drama class; David and Clair are teaching puppets and evangelism tools; Will is filming and working in the Video Department and Sera is teaching in phonics class and helping where needed.

The team has bonded quickly and everyone is excited about how well we are getting along. On Friday night Mr. Richard shared during our team devotions and at the end of the devotions he held a Commissioning Service for the team, with candles and all. It was special for the team to experience this honor. Therefore, starting Saturday morning the team began to use their leadership skills as team members on other teams began to arrive. Four team members spent the day at the airport greeting team members flying in. The remainder of the team did miscellaneous jobs that needed to be completed on arrival day. We concluded our day with sore feet and exhausted bodies, but it was exciting to worship together in the company of 300+ new team member who had just arrived to begin their summer training.

Thank you for your prayers for our team as we continue to serve the staff and students at Boot Camp for the next two weeks. Everyone has such positive attitudes, it is a blessing.  Pray for continued unity and willing hearts as we prepare to travel to Canada in two weeks.
