Steve & Gay Petersen Newsletter (Winter 2020)

Dear Friends and Family,

We enjoyed a visit from Jim and Judy Person. Jim is one of the Teen Missions founders and former vice president of Teen Missions

I (Steve) continue to serve under the TMI president, Richard Barber, as we seek to strengthen ministry vision and performance. I travelled with Richard to Portland, OR for meetings and a missions conference and went to Turbeville, South Carolina with Gay and Faith to share at a missions conference. I also plan to travel in March/April to many of the Teen Missions’ bases in SE Asia to meet with our staff coordinators and work on mission training, plans and goals.

Gay continues to serve as head of the Personnel Department, coordinating the many facets involved in that department including processing new staff along with managing worker safety and risk management with our insurance underwriters. She helps cook for larger retreats hosted at our conference center and is homeschooling Timothy and Faith in the mornings.

We praise the Lord for successful Boot Camps training close to 700 teens with hundreds of decisions for Christ during December/January in South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Australia and Honduras.

In Indonesia, we are looking to relocate our students in one strong Muslim area after local officals took part of our property. Also, one of our staff families in Zambia (remote western area) survived a home invasion without injury (Praise the Lord!). Pray the young offenders will be caught and for peace and healing for this young national staff family. We’d also appreciate prayers for our upcoming annual board meeting as we work to approve a 10-year plan and set other ministry goals.

Timothy — is in his senior year of high school and is working during the afternoons at Chic- fil-A. He’s signed up for his first summer as a leader on our summer missions trip to Myanmar. In the fall, he plans to begin studies at our BMWTC (Bible, Missionary & Work Training Center) here in Florida.

Faith — is a high school freshman with a full class load that includes piano and art. She’s registered to serve this summer as a team member on the Rwanda team. It was a joy to have them both help this past week leading worship at the TMI staff chapel (Faith on guitar and Timothy on the Cajon—box drum).
