Justin & Lindsey Casper Newsletter (Winter 2020)

Family, Friends, and Former Team Members,

It’s hard to believe that the year 2020 is upon us already! This last year of ministry with Teen Missions has flown by. In October we were back in Florida. Justin is keeping busy as part of the land crew. He has helped repair the flooring in one of the Teen Missions houses. He also worked on renovating the kitchen’s barbeque pit. Currently he is repairing the roof on the girls’ Boot Camp bathroom.

November brought Thanksgiving. This year we were blessed to have two BMW students spend their Thanksgiving break with us! We had such an amazing time including them in our family’s traditions. We consider them members of our family now. Caleb and Hannah recently got married, and the kids are excited to one day be uncles and aunts.

In January, our family took a cruise to the Bahamas. It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip, as our entire group made up 40 people!! It was an amazing extended family vacation, made only possible for us by my parents. We were blessed to watch our children get to experience so many new things. Noah learned to float at Half Moon Key, Levi got to celebrate his 7th birthday the day we set sail, Rebecca learned she loves steak, and Shiloh lit up anytime we went swimming, which was often. It was a wonderful family bonding time we’ll cherish forever.

I am still homeschooling the kids. Each year brings new challenges and adventures. We would ask that you would pray for Rebecca. Ever since she learned to talk, she’s had difficulty articulating certain sounds. After an initial visit to her pediatrician, a speech therapist and a second opinion, it was decided that she is tongue tied, and would need surgery to fix it. This will happen in the beginning of February. Following the procedure, Rebecca will need speech therapy a couple days a week. Please pray for her surgery, recovery, and therapy. Also, remember the other kids and I, as therapy multiple times a week will become our new normal routine.

In the coming months, we plan to open our home up for more ministry with the BMW students. Once a month, we will do some sort of activity with them. Our goal is to bring even more of a spirit of unity within the group, as well as offering them another home away from home. We look forward to getting to know each one of them better.

Boot Camp will be here before we know it, and we are so excited!! This year we will be the backup leaders on the Iowa Preteen team. Our ministry will be at the Jericho Hills Campground where the team will be working on projects such as a shelter house, expanding the campground’s obstacle course, and helping clean up the community. The ministry will also be Gospel centered as the team will have opportunities to share with Jericho Hills campers, and share with local churches as well.

If any of you would like to contribute to the fund for our children going to Iowa with us, fill out the coupon below.

As always, we thank the Lord for each and every one of you. Your support, in whatever form, is greatly appreciated. We couldn’t do this without you!
