Pat Storey Newsletter (Winter 2020)

Greetings Everyone,

Happy 2020! I hope this New Year finds you all doing well and enjoying your winter! It has been exceptionally warm in Florida, but still cooler than the summertime temperatures.

We will soon be changing to thoughts and plans for this year’s Boot Camp. Around TMI, we all begin to get excited when Boot Camp work begins because we will soon have the place swarming with teenagers and volunteers and will get to meet our team members.

But before that all begins, I have had a busy year. Mr. Richard asked me in October to go to Cambodia to train our Asian coordinators in finances as well as to give our Circuit Rider training. With the exception of one of them, none had had the training before and they are excited to start new circuits in their countries so that their graduates from the Bible schools will have ministry they can plug into immediately. This should equip them to go home and train their students and former students to run our Sunday school program.

The training went very well and Sarah Evans (who travelled with me) and I were extremely blessed to be able to go and help in this way. It was so much fun to meet all of them and get to know each one. It felt like we were eating all the time (had some good food—a LOT of rice!). We had fun shopping for souvenirs and enjoyed visiting and learning about Angkor Wat in our spare time.

Thank you to all who prayed for that trip. We could definitely tell there were many praying for us as we travelled and held the classes. It was such a huge blessing!

I didn’t go home to be with my kids for Christmas this year. I only went to Ohio to visit my friend, Kattie Curl, and share at her church. I’m very thankful that the weather was so good and there was no snow or ice on the roads. While there, we drove a few hours south and took a tour of the Ark Encounter near Cincinnati. It was an amazing thing to see. If you ever have the chance to see it, don’t pass it up. It is definitely worth the trip and your time.

As I’m writing this, I am in Uganda doing some more finance training. Susan Pierce (a volunteer) is traveling with me this time and when we arrived, the Eyeglass/Medical team from Australia was still here for our first week.

We have a Matron Unit in Uganda which is run by a graduate of our Bible school, who Susan had met when she came here on an adult team back in 2005. They have become very good friends over the years and have been praying for a chance to get together again. Rose was at the airport to pick us up and it was a sweet reunion between the two of them. Susan is also a nurse, so she is having the time of her life helping the Australia team with the medical needs. She has blessed absolutely everyone at this base.

It has been another blessing to be here again after being here with my team last summer and to get to meet the Australian team. We were able to help them a little bit and had the opportunity to go on a Sunset Cruise on the Nile River with them. They were a really great team with excellent leaders and it’s been fun to get to know them.

We have one more week here and then we will fly to Tanzania to do the same thing there. I was in Tanzania a couple of years ago with a team, so it will be good to see how things have changed and to visit the coordinators and staff there again.

Please keep praying for us because we still have a lot of traveling to do and there will be a ton of work to do when I get back to the office.

Things at Teen Missions are going very well and I couldn’t be more pleased. I get to work with some very amazing people who all have amazing stories to tell of their teams and travels over the years. Please keep the staff, students and volunteers who serve with Teen Missions all around the world in your prayers.

Thank you again for your faithful giving that makes this ministry possible and gives all of the staff here the amazing opportunities to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world. There is no way all of this could be done without your prayers and financial support.

With love as I serve Him with you,

Hebrews 4:16
