Hannah Baptista Newsletter (Winter 2020)

Hello Everyone,

Gabe working on my tire for me.

I am so excited to share with you all of what I have been a part. As many of you know, I came back to Florida to a one-year internship with Teen Missions. After arriving here, I made the commitment to join staff with them! I am so excited that I have this opportunity to be a part of this ministry and all that it does. I have been placed as Department Head of the Retreat Center here. It has been really great getting to learn all the new things and working with the churches coming for retreats.

I have moved into a new house and I am loving it. The Lord really blessed me with a wonderful place to live. I am still settling in, but it is coming along nicely. My roommate, Emma, just got back from Africa and it has been so encouraging to hear all the testimonies of how God is working at our bases over in Africa. Sometimes I get discouraged even though I know that the work that I am doing is important. If this base wasn’t running, then we would not be able to run all of our overseas bases. But I don’t always see the fruit of our labor first hand, so it has been really encouraging to hear of all the lives being changed for Jesus and the ministry that is going on that is a part of what we are doing here. This is what the Lord has been teaching me, to stay faithful and joyful in the work here, even if I do not always see that fruit first-hand.

Something that you all can be praying for—right after we got back from Christmas break, I found my tire was flat. When we looked closer we found a pretty decent sized hole in it. It was too big to be from a nail, but we do not really know what was from. We tried patching it, but after two days, it was flat again. We then took it off and put two patches in it, but it looks like I will need to buy a new tire sometime soon. The double patch is holding it for now, but it is better to be safer than sorry later. So, please pray that I will be able to find a good deal and be able to get better tires.

More exciting news!!!! On  Friday, January 17, I became engaged to the most wonderful God-fearing man I have ever met. The Lord is so good to me, and I am so blessed. We are looking at getting married in August after we both get back from our summer teams. As of right now, we are both leading teams this summer and we are just happy to be able to serve wherever we are needed.

Thank you all so much for your continued prayers as I continue on this journey and for partnering with me to change the world for Jesus together.
