Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

March 16, 2020

As a ministry, we want to express our appreciation for the support and prayers offered by so many of you. Thank you, and keep them coming!

Even as we all take practical steps for the safety of our loved ones, let us also rejoice in the power and presence of our awesome God.

  • Read His Word.
  • Pray His Word.
  • Spend time in worship.
  • Look for opportunities to be the light of Christ for those who feel uncertain

Teen Missions is taking practical steps now to ensure the safety of our staff and students around the world. In some locations, our ministry work overseas has been temporarily scaled back and in some cases, halted. We continue to monitor global developments even as we review a variety of options. We still have nearly three months until the Florida Boot Camp and a lot can happen during that time. We are hopeful the virus would run its course before then. The safety of our staff, leaders and team members is our top priority and we will respect prevailing advice from the CDC and other official sources when the time comes to make final decisions regarding our summer teams. In the meantime, please join us in trusting the Lord for an end to the coronavirus.

As the summer approaches, Teen Missions is working hard on our research,  policies, and readiness to the constantly changing dynamics of the COVID19 virus. At this time, we believe the summer Boot Camp and mission trips will happen as planned even as we develop stronger health policies and training for each team. Teen Missions will continue to monitor the latest updates from the CDC, WHO and State Dept. Travel Advisories in addition to regular updates from our project host locations around the world. We are encouraging each summer participant to take the following steps now to best prepare for a safe & healthy summer.

PRAY —We believe that our God is mighty… that He hears and answers the prayers of His people. It is the cornerstone of any successful missions trip. Please join us in praying for the health and safety of every team member, leader, staff member and missionary host of our teams this summer. Ask your prayer partners to join you now in prayer and encourage them to pray from the promises in God’s Word. So then faith [comes] by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. – Rom 10:17 NKJV

PREPARE —Start now to learn good habits for hand washing, make sure hand sanitizer is added to your packing list, avoid touching your face or mouth, (it’s harder than you think, so start practicing now :-).  Consult with your parents and with your doctor on vitamins and supplements that can be helpful in strengthening your immune system while you are on your missions trip.

We will provide additional updates as new information becomes available. Your prayers are welcome and appreciated!

In Christ,

TEEN MISSIONS INTERNATIONAL
