McCrackens in the forest!

Samuel was born and raised in sunny San Diego, California in a loving Christian home. He attended private school through 8th grade and graduated from high school in 1997. He attended some community colleges and several evangelism training schools. Samuel also attended the Calvary Chapel Bible College from ’06-’08. He spent some years working with his dad, Keith, in his computer business and has spent 5 years off and on working as a caregiver for the paralyzed and elderly. He was drawn to the ministry of Teen Missions because of the difference that they make in the lives of kids. Samuel has helped lead a preteen team to Belize in ‘07, a preteen team to Indiana in ‘08, and served as a summer volunteer in the Land Crew Department in ‘09. He joined staff in September of 2009.

Samuel’s passion is to share the love of God and the free gift of salvation with anyone who doesn’t have it. He has a burden for Middle Eastern Muslims and the innocent victims of the AIDS epidemic in Africa, the 14+ million AIDS orphans. Samuel desires to spend the rest of his life as a full-time missionary. He would like to minister in Africa at a Teen Missions base and somewhere in the Middle East in the future, or wherever God calls him. He enjoys surfing, sharing his faith, reading, and watching a good movie!

Redika was born in Medan, Indonesia and raised up in a Christian family. Although she went to church, Redika didn’t really know Christ personally until 2005 when she went through the Teen Missions Boot Camp in Java, Indonesia. Through that experience God really drew her heart close to Him and she received Jesus as her Lord and Savior. At the same time she also committed her life to Him to serve Him as a missionary. Redika then attended Teen Missions BIBLE MISSIONARY & WORK (BMW) Training Center in Tangerang, Indonesia in 2005.  After graduation, an opportunity arose for Redika to go and serve with Teen Missions in Malawi, Africa where she served from 2010-2013. It was a wonderful experience for Redika that helped her grow more deeply in her relationship with the LORD and she enjoyed having the freedom to witness and share her faith which can be dangerous in Indonesia because it is a Muslim country. While in Malawi, God really opened her eyes to the needs of people and orphans.

Samuel and Redika met in Malawi in 2010 when he went as an assistant leader for a team of preteens. In December 2013 they were married in Indonesia. Samuel and Redika are currently serving the Lord in the jungle of Borneo at our new Teen Missions base.  Redika is helping to translate the Motorcycle Sunday School Mission (MSSM) lessons and teaching English to the MSSM Circuit Riders.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:8-9 (NKJV)

He had heard from my friend, Anthony, that I was a missionary. We talked for a bit and then I was on my way to church. ...
