Madagascar

Do you ever wish you could just disappear completely off the face of the earth and just leave civilization behind? I do. This summer I had a calling to go to Madagascar to evangelize and share God’s love among the wonderful Malagasy people. I didn’t know right away what my purpose on this team was, but as we started going out to the bush Sunday Schools, I started seeing why. The time I knew that I was exactly where God wanted me to be was on our way back from the waterfall we had been at for three days. Right before we left, we took a five-minute walk to a nearby village to do a presentation. We did a couple songs and did the drama, “See Me Notice Me”. Afterwards, I did a "preachimony" (half preaching, half testimony) and talked to them about worry. I told them that they shouldn’t worry about what the next day had in store. I explained that God was there no matter what and He wouldn’t give them more than they could handle. I shared a bit of my testimony and how forgiveness is a big part of following God. In order to receive forgiveness, you need to be able to forgive. There was an altar call at the end and I read John 14:6. Eight people accepted Christ. Now I knew exactly why God had called me to Madagascar. We continued to drive to our base, stopping at three more villages along the way. Doing the same thing that we did at the first village, we saw 58 people accepted Christ. The feeling I got after never was normal. It got better each time and the power of God only got stronger. I may not know what the future holds, but I know that God is my organizer and will plan everything for me perfectly.
