After three weeks of construction, our team was excited for a week of children’s ministry. We had practiced the skits, the songs, and dramas at Boot Camp in Florida. We were ready and willing, but a little tired. As a team member, it was important to me that I have a joyful heart in sharing God’s love with the Filipino children in Butuan. I prayed during devotions that we would not only be useful in sparking a fire for God in the kid’s hearts, but also that God would work in ours. Everyday, our team did our presentation, played games, and had fun with the children. Their laughter during our puppet shows, participation in the songs, and giggling during the games were a huge blessing. I felt that our team was closer and was having a great deal of fun. It was difficult to say goodbye to the children we met at every school and location. I feel that God touched the hearts of my team members and myself and I hope that the fun we had with those children will have an impact on their hearts! I’m truly glad to have been a part of the Philippines team this year!
